I am pretty sure it was simply a power thing for him. He wanted me to eat and if I didn’t, it was a personal affront. I was a kid who had to eat all my dinner. I never liked the In football and in life it’s all about bouncing back from setbacks retro T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this food that was cooked so I ended up sitting at the table for hours, usually until bedtime. Now I tell my son he just has to make a decent effort but when he’s full, he’s full. I usually give him the right amount and he finishes it but not all the time. Now I only ask that my son tastes and eats a minimal amount of his meals so he doesn’t come to us 5 min before bedtime saying “I’m hungry”. I never ask that he finish the whole plate. I also ask him if the portion served seems okay to him. He usually is mistaken, but he’s at least able to say if it’s far too much or too little.

I was walking through the In football and in life it’s all about bouncing back from setbacks retro T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this house to go out the back door; wasn’t hungry, didn’t ask for anything, but Oma was like “here have some gespacho” I refuse to drink that disgusting crap for the rest of my life to protest her efforts. I’d rather die than ever have it pass my lips. I was a hyperactive kid, so it was literal torture all because someone was mad I didn’t want their soup that I didn’t ask for. My daughter hates 90% of the stuff I cook. I’m not making like… crazy gross food. Chicken breasts. Carrots. BLT’s. Just generally well rounded foods. She says she won’t eat before sitting down “it’s disgusting and I’m not eating it.” But I can’t let her have Mac and cheese every night. She doesn’t want to eat that’s fine but we expect at least 5-10 minutes of family time without phones or distractions where we can talk and be together. As long as the meal is “reasonable” like not Brussels sprouts and fish we put it to the side so when she says she’s hungry later it’s still there. I don’t think that’s unreasonable. We’ll heat it up if she wants. If she’s hungry she will eat it. If she’s just bored that’s different. We need to teach good eating habits.
