Hey OP! This is not normal. You should definitely go to a doctor if not a dermatologist. This is a sign of an underlying health condition that is not only topical. Can I ask what can cause this? I have skin like this although not quite a dry as pictured. I do have hypothyroidism so hopefully it is just that. I have eggshell nails (which have always been super delicate and prone to breaking) even when I’m not deficient in anything. When they’re long, they bend super easily. Nails are genetic, but curling inward definitely sounds like some underlying issue. Did not know there was a name for this, I have the I’m Sorry I’m A Mean Band Director I’ll Try To Be Nicer Go Practice T-Shirt in addition I really love this same issue. my nails have never been strong or thick enough to retain any length without overlays.

Yep! I learned about it in cosmetology school. It’s the I’m Sorry I’m A Mean Band Director I’ll Try To Be Nicer Go Practice T-Shirt in addition I really love this worst honestly. My nails have always been a huge issue for me. Other people have these perfect mail beds and can have decent length and mine just bend every way possible. Saaaaame, I haven’t used nail clippers in probably years because My nails just peel off long before then. It’s awful Wow, I think I have eggshell nails, too! My maternal grandmother could grow the prettiest nails. Must have got it from the other side. Thanks for the info! I also have thin nails like this! I have since I was kid. And like you said, it never correlates to any deficiencies. They grow really fast, but the only way I can keep them long is with a gel base coat/top coat to harden them. I don’t love the idea of the chemicals and uv light involved in those though. So I just do it for a bit then remove it, trim my nails short, and just let them be.
