That an interesting take. If you could prove that management policy is that you can’t quit then even if you just no show and apply for unemployment, you can say they fired you. They had to, because quitting isn’t allowed Lmaooo. I was 13yo (my ‘supervisor’ had just turned 17) and even though it was my first job, I knew something weird was up.The McDonald’s training films were almost like being indoctrinated. They wanted you IN,, all the way. It was like they wanted it to be a damn religion (and I didn’t fall for that crap either so the Ronnie McD didn’t have a chance). They had special competitions, if you can believe it, to see who.was the absolute best at their position. Cashiers with the biggest smiles, the cheeriest “Please Come Again!!” and the quickest service. I mean these ridiculous little cheesy ‘games’ would work up to nationally competing against other locations across North America. WTAF? Employees would hold their ‘awards’ over others like it really meant something. It’s a goddamn disgusting-tasting burger joint. I quit after about 18 months of part-time work (and they made sure you worked hard!!) at about $1.50/hr. I left bc I had a summer job that paid $2.00/hr. It was more than my goofy supervisor,Brent, earned and he was furious at me for leaving and my new wage. He had the bloody nerve to tell me I was making a huge life mistake and I would regret this decision forever. I laughed and laughed….all the way to my mom’s Monte Carlo in the Mickey Dee’s parking lot and never looked back. And , Hey Brent– 50 years later & still No regrets!

If you and a co-worker had beef you took it to shit hill. Fond memories. Sounds you belong to a certain club, and like you’re breaking rule number 1. You shouldn’t be talking about it. IKR? It’s like hearing about bosses ‘not accepting’ a two week notice. I once had a guy quit by writing’I quit!’ on his time card. What are you gonna do? It’s a cheat code if you actually do quit they raise your pay and give you benefits and a good working environment to make you not want to quit lol I tried to type up some wholesome thing where people would just say “I quit” and walk off the job, but were just mad and still needed the job therefor this sign is saying we don’t accept you quitting till you make it official. IE trying to not take everything people say in the heat of the moment as fact.
