I know way too many of them have anger and control issues but I’d like to know what percentage of US cops are sociopaths or psychopaths. *edited again to add: When I read about someone shooting a dog and using “felt threatened” as their get-out-of-jail-free card, I couldn’t help but guess it was cop. The article doesn’t seem to actually state if the I’m Like Four Days Past My Bedtime Quote T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this killer of he autistic kid’s service dog was a cop or not. My bad for assuming the dog killer was a cop. I know three people who went on to be cops. Two of them were complete assholes who always seemed to have an axe to grind with anyone/everyone, they definitely had issues. The third was a super great, nice guy & compassionate person. He’s a state cop & if all cops were like him we’d be in good shape. I’d be shocked if it’s not around that 60-70% that are socio/psychopaths. Every one of them was an asshole in school. Except one, who was actually one of my best friends. He went to undergrad first and got a criminal justice degree and then went into the training center. Literally the day he graduated from that, after years of prep, he decided he was going to change his life and do something else. He said he didn’t like the people he was around and he didn’t like the person he was becoming.

I don’t believe there’s such a thing as ‘changing the I’m Like Four Days Past My Bedtime Quote T-Shirt Apart from…,I will love this police from the inside’. Whistleblower cops get dead under mysterious circumstances. I’m glad your friend recognized what becoming a cop does to basically everyone and got out immediately. It sucks for us, but it’s legitimately likely the best for him. Even the ones that start out good are trained to expect danger around every corner. They are put in a constant state of fear and surrounded by an us-versus-them mentality. It breaks their brains. It hyperactivates their amygdalas. And that is exactly why they forced him to quit, via harassment. I don’t know it for a fact, I just know it’s true. I know Michael Brelo personally. He should have never been given a badge or a gun. He is the definition of unstable. For context: he was the cop in Cleveland who jumped on the hood of a suspect’s car after a 50+ police car chase and fired 20 some shots through the windshield, (he reloaded) killing both occupants. Who were completely innocent. A city used psych evaluations on police candidates before hiringthem. Their police related incidents went way down. I’ve heard, can’t confirm, but I’ve heard that the Philadelphia Police Department had a running tally of how many dogs they shot. Kind of like a competition.
