I was born in 87 and that’s the I’m Done Peopling Where Are My Cats shirt and I will buy this day after my sister’s bday. How do you like having your birthday fall on thanksgiving every few years? This happened to me, with a one year difference. What’s wild is a I have a twin sister, who was born 3 minutes after me, with the correct date recorded. Even with her and my parents’ testimony,I had to go through several courts to get it fixed. The way I found out was doing my first round of applying for college and student aid. Since social security had the correct year, but state/federal documents stated I was born the year previous, I technically didn’t exist and couldn’t be considered as a candidate. Apparently my dad knew, and just decided not to do anything about it. When I reached out to him for the first time to ask about it, he had the fucking audacity to tell me “you need to get that fixed right away”. Had he fixed that the minute he saw the typo before I turned 16, my world would be so different. I still get messages saying my identity cannot be verified due to conflicting records. I hope beyond hope this doesn’t happen to you OP.

I had a 4 swapped from a 9 when they transitioned from handwritten to computer system and I found out when I was 16 so I was 21 according to my birth certificate. My jerk parents took it from me and corrected my record rather than letting me have the I’m Done Peopling Where Are My Cats shirt and I will buy this best fake id ever. That is like trying to dox one specific person out of the entire population of Iceland, I don’t think they have much to worry about You went from older than me to younger. I feel like I should be pushing you over and taking your lunch money or something. my first name was misspelled on my birth certificate, they used the American spelling and I guess just assumed my mom’s accent was off while also not checking with her. She saw it and never changed it, then signed me up for Social Security and card with the right or intended spelling. That wasn’t an issue until trying to get a license renewed about ten years ago, but I’ve had licenses there and in three other states with no issue. Unfortunately I can’t get a replacement Social Security card online because nothing matches.
