Over the I’m A Longhorns On Saturdays And A Texas On Sundays Mascot Shirt Besides,I will do this years I’ve found that many people doing questionable our outright hateful things because of ‘religion’ are actually doing them to consolidate power, authority and/or money. A tale as old as time. We’re seeing that actively played out in Washington DC these days be people who put on the trappings of religion but whose actions are horrifying to behold “You [Muslims] will fight against the Jews and you will gain victory over them. The stones will betray them saying: ‘O slave of Allah! There is a Jew hiding behind me; so kill him!” The hadith is a very complex topic, and you can’t really just quote it and say that’s that. There’s a lot of context to it and not every Muslim is going to agree with the validity of every Hadith (depending on sect). It’s also worth noting that how a religion is practiced and what the practitioners believe matters much more than assumptions that are made by non practitioners who don’t take it as seriously or have the same level of context and understanding.

I’ve read the I’m A Longhorns On Saturdays And A Texas On Sundays Mascot Shirt Besides,I will do this Qu’ran and know a lot about Islam and it’s very ignorant to act like you totally understand a religion that you are not (and have never been) a part of yourself. There are even multiple levels of authenticity for hadiths, ranging from “authentic” to “good” to “weak”. You can’t just quote one and say that it’s totally authentic and everyone follows that one, dude. I’m not out here calling Islam the religion of peace but you also won’t catch me refusing to give practitioners of any religion the benefit of the doubt when it’s warranted (IE, when there isn’t an extremely good and pressing reason not to). Edit: you can make a lot of the same bad faith interpretations of Christian texts and history, but westerners don’t because they often come from Christian backgrounds and they’re not heavily prejudiced against other Christians.
