They just poked my stomach, went ‘oooo’ a lot, then put me in surgery the same day. No need for a scan, the thing was like a rock apparently. Same here, 5 year old me was wheeled in with stomach like a rock and spewing like a fountain. On operating table an hour later with emergency appendectomy which highly likely saved my life. There was simply no time for any longwinded diagnosis work. Sometimes we do have to trust the gut feeling of the surgeons and doctors.

Their educated guess is worlds above the layman “educated guess” cuz ya know theirs is actually educated. Maybe I’m reading it wrong, but it sounds like her issue is that the drs couldn’t tell her exactly what function the appendix serves & offered their best “educated guess.”
