She’s better now through therapy and everything. I can only imagine if there had been some kind of shooting near us at that time. I’d have difficulty getting her out of her room, never mind to school. She’s now in her 20’s and may be pregnant. I’m thinking I’m gonna homeschool that one from the If You Can’t Take The Heat Do Not Poke The Dragon T-Shirt in other words I will buy this start. It’s just…..a kid shouldn’t be traumatized just by going to school. The Thousand Oaks shooting is a sad example of this, 60 of the patrons present at the Borderline Bar were Las Vegas survivors. Holy shit that’s scary. You know, if there was a game where you had a chance to win a million bucks, but the odds were 1 in 136 that you might get killed, I don’t see myself playing that game. It’s even sadder that someone can say they survived a mass shooting, in a certain month of a certain year in America, and you could still not be sure which mass shooting it was.

Made this comment to my stepdad as to why I want to leave this country and it started him off on one of his “google rants”. Like, dude, look it up anywhere and you’ll see this is a uniquely American thing and way worse than you think it is. I’m not a survivor but I was in San Bernardino when the If You Can’t Take The Heat Do Not Poke The Dragon T-Shirt in other words I will buy this hospital shooting happened and up in the Bay area when the Garlic festival shooting happened. Shit’s crazy It’s wild that someone can say they survived a school shooting and you have to do research on the person to figure out which one they’re talking about. Twenty years ago it felt kind of surreal to meet someone who survived Columbine, like I was meeting royalty or something. Now I know people who knew Devin Patrick Kelley or who tended to injured kids in Uvalde. Like the walls are closing yet I’m more desensitized.
