schumer has been saying lots of great and progressive things recently, if only he was competent at his job lol bc for being the If You Ain’t First You’re Last Funny 4th Of July Patriotic T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this majority leader he sure seems to have a hard time getting his party to agree with him. I’m not sure what you really expect him to do. Congress is deadlocked, like two Democrats aren’t playing ball, and even if they were, you need a super majority to pass a lot of stuff in the Senate. whip his damn party lol. his whip durbin doesn’t even respect him ffs. u guys really let 2 guys hold your agenda hostage with no pushback. Pretty sure that’s what he’s done but two DINOs who value personal power more than the overall good have thrown a wrench in spokes. Look, I agree that Manchin and Synema are a problem, but let’s not pretend that there’s absolutely no way to coerce them to fall in line. Both of them are up to their eyeballs in corruption, which could easily be held over their heads if dem leadership were willing to play hardball. The democratic party/leadership is historically weak, and it has allowed the Republicans to drag the Overton window to the right for the last three decades at least. Appease? I wouldn’t appease them, they are beyond the “carrot” part of the carrot and stick approach. They’re too corrupt to care about those kinds of things. If I were Chuck I would meet with Biden, and tell him that they need to be investigated for corruption unless they’re willing to support big ticket items like BBB, student loan forgiveness, etc. I guarantee they will fold under that kind of pressure.
