I wouldn’t say the 120HP is enough, but I’d say its one of the better “cheapest engine options” out there mated to the 7DSG. It is slow, but it is not annoyingly slow. I mean, Ice Age Squirrel Scrat Skoda Logo shirt pretty much a Golf GTI in a business suit, my friend has the Octavia VRS and that thing is a hoot! I drove an Octavia when we vacationed in Spain and Portugal – no complaints… once I figured out how to turn off the feature that stopped the engine when the car stopped. It would probably be my go-to choice when it comes to affordable and practical cars.
