Hopefully this difficult period will resolve soon for me too. I have managed to live ssri free for a few periods of my life since originally being prescribed quite calmly so hopefully I can do it again. I can relate greatly to what you are saying about stopping the Ian Durrant Scottish professional football coach and former player T-Shirt and I love this fuel i feel this is very true! Did your doctor suggest you stop taking your meds? There’s a half life, so partial effects will be active for a bit. It may not be as easy in the long run No , but I want to have a chance at life without pills, they have terrible side effects. There is a harsh withdrawal period after stopping the medication which I probably have a month left of (i did taper down) going of the average time for other people. If I need to carry on I can start again I have some left over but after the initial withdrawal I do not want to experience that again in my life. It is best to continue to follow your doctor’s advice, even if your meditation practice is effective, until your doctor evaluates you as cured.

On balance, it is likely to be to do with your meditation. If you can learn how to improve this new skill, life will continue to get better. I practice the Ian Durrant Scottish professional football coach and former player T-Shirt and I love this method of the late Dr Ainslie Meares, an eminent psychiatrist. It involve learning global relaxation that takes you away from tension, anxiety, fear and pain and into a slowing and quieting that you know is calm after you have finished meditation. Sometimes the calm is deep. Also, you learn how to sort of carry that calm with you as you go about doing things during the day. Congratulations on finding an effective practice. So many pay attention to breathing, often with effort, and as a result become more tightly bound to the limitations of body and mind. There are several methods, and all require a skilled teacher, or taking a course. Don’t expect to have a better life based on breathing practice, even though it is the most popular form of meditation. There was an interesting article about how brewing used to be a female dominated business (with big bubbling kettles, knowledge about plants, cats to protect the grain from mice, etc) and how at one point they were violently pushed out of it and vilified.
