Bit like American Idiot by Green Day, that album only existed as someone stole Billie Joe’s laptop, which had a previous near completed album. American Idiot was one of their biggest hits That song still evokes a very specific memory of being at recess in elementary school when it came out, and me and my buddy each sharing one half of some headphones to listen to it on his portable CD player. Odd how your brain remembers specific ass moments like that. I was getting busted for pot at school on 9/11. The local naval intelligence base bought me a week before arrest as they had cops holding their posts in West Virginia near that base. Probably cause naval bases so far from an ocean are obviously intel. I remember my mum telling me what had happened as I got in the car and thinking she was joking. I’m not sure why I thought she would joke about something like that. I had a new colleague join my workplace the other day and he wasn’t born when 9/11 happened. Blew my mind. It really is worrying when you can remember what you were doing on the day people were born. That’s what happen, that’s right. For some reason I was thinking about this the other day and thought the recordings were destroyed in a fire, maybe that was a different band.
