I have had a guy do that to me, and it screwed up my view on the relationship I was in for no reason at all. I had been dating my boyfriend for about 3 years, and everything was going great. At the time when I met the guy who ruined my relationship it was like a year after my bf and I graduated high-school, we were working towards saving up to get a place together, while also going to college, and having jobs. I was a little sad at times because we had conflicting schedules and as a result didn’t get to spend a lot of time together. So I decided to spend more time with friends when I couldn’t be with my bf. One evening a guy friend of mine invites me to play Magic the Gathering at the BK. He said each week him and a whole group of people meet up to play. I hadn’t played the game previously, but went just to hangout. I show up, and of course I’m the only girl there in a sea of like 15 dudes. I see my friend and go to his table. So he taught me the basics, and I watched a few games before playing a game. I’m playing him for a bit, then I see him get tapped on the shoulder by someone else. He turns around, and starts talking to the guy. After a minute he turns back around, and we continued our game. I started to get tired, and went home. Later that night I get a text from my friend telling me that guy asked about me. He told me that he told him I was in a relationship so I was like ok. A week goes by, and I get asked back out to play MTG. I go because I again didn’t have plans with my bf. That guy who asked about me showed up again of course. He knew my friend so he asked to play with us. We let him, and of course he was witty, engaging, funny, smart, etc. He talked to me for hours, and of course we talked about relationships. He got me to think that I wasn’t my bf’s focus. That my bf was more into making money than being with me, and that I deserved more. I started to kind of believe him. We became fast friends because we had “lots in common”, and started to hangout. Then he started telling me he liked me, and would treat me better. I fell for those fucking lies because this guy told me what he knew would change my mind on how I felt about my high-school boyfriend. So then of course I broke it off with my bf who hadn’t done a single thing wrong. I was manipulated into thinking he didn’t care about me. Anyways that guy and I then started to date. He said he would treat me better right. Well in my high-school relationship I was in love, happy, and probably would have ended up marrying him (no cap), but instead I dumped him for this smart, funny guy who ended up cheating on me behind my back multiple times, and also used to gaslight me constantly. He definitely lied about treating me better. I look back on that time in my life, and can’t believe I could be so easily manipulated, and stupid enough to fall for that scumb bags lies. OK, so sorry about the long story, but I just don’t think that guys should try to talk girl out of the relationship she is currently in. Just be respectful and let the relationship go where it naturally will go. If the girl you like is in a relationship just say oh well, and walk away. You never know she might be single soon or never again, but you should never try to manipulate a girl to break it off with her bf. That’s not game that’s just lame.
