This is why I stopped crabbing and digging out razor clams in the I Wonder If There Is A Margarita Somewhere Out There Thinking About me T-Shirt moreover I love this oregon bays/washington beaches. I hate the kitchen bit. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest. I grew up near the beach and went crabbing frequently. Keepers were cooked and enjoyed—simple as that. I can imagine it can be nerve wracking to someone that didn’t grow up around it, but everyone is different. yeah, this and seeing octopus being eaten alive. The creatures may not be able to talk or build parking lots but they deserve more respect. Yeah I won’t eat lobster bc of this. I ask about the crab. I also won’t eat other animal products that are inhumane like fois gras. Just disgusting. Ok this is unrelated, but i need to challenge this idea I see on Reddit a shit ton. You should not have a right to complain about common ways animals are killed if you are going to continue eating them. In that case, you are one of the very reasons they are killed like this. Most Lobsters and Crabs are numbed and/or killed before boiling, it isnt inhumane, we are killing them to eat them. We do not need to, unless that is actually your only way of getting food, as there are other alternatives, but still, it is the path we have chosen to walk. If the way the animal is killed actually is inhumane, needlessly cruel or just flat out wrong, then obviously fight it. But common things like slaughter houses are the way we have been doing it for a long time, for good reason.

It makes my mouth water, honestly, to have a fresh pot of crabs to steam up. They’re dead relatively quickly. There are far less humane practices in other food industries. surprised it’s shown on tiktok so often with the I Wonder If There Is A Margarita Somewhere Out There Thinking About me T-Shirt moreover I love this bullshit things they ban other people for. but also there’s zero consistency with that app regardless Yea there’s no reason for it, they can kill it quickly right before and it’ll be as fresh. Another one of those barbaric things that have taken a bit too long to become socially discouraged It is extremely cruel as they feel intense pain. Most professionals sever the nerve behind their head to kill them instantly before cooking. Not really. If it did, then I would have to come to terms with the way the meat industry treats all the animals I eat and I would have to admit that I contribute directly to animal cruelty every time I buy ground pork at the supermarket. I have a lot of respect for vegans and I wish I could live like that but I can’t; meat is too good. And also our whole society is practically built around violence, whether towards animals or towards other people. What am I supposed to do as an individual? This probably all sounds quite stupid but I really do feel bad about eating meat. I just can’t really stop. I have tried but meat alternatives make me feel sick. Y’all are so subjective in what you find gross or inhumane. You know lobsters are closely related to cockroaches and many other insects. Lobsters, shrimp, crabs, they’re all basically sea insects
