McCain only voted that way as he was dying from brain cancer and saw the I will watch tennis on a boat watch tennis here or there T-Shirt in contrast I will get this bills first hand. It was a true leopards ate my face moment for him and he deserves no respect for it. I don’t care if he’s dead. He railed against policies that saved lives when he was alive and only sought redemption on his death bed. Despicable person that is luckily dead and unable to vote on the party line. That’s proper sick that, maybe he should have used defied the GOP at any point before he kicked it, maybe then he’d have “saved” even more lives. He did…. thats what the comment you responded to was saying? His act of defiance is what saved the ACA in the US. Tens of millions of people who would otherwise not have insurance now do, the age to stay on your parents plan was extended from 18 (21 if full time student only) to 26 with no exceptions. And insurance companies in the US can no longer deny or charge more based on pre existing conditions (except for minus smoking). Mccain may not have been great, but that one single act saved of the most beneficial pieces of legislation in this shitshow of a country in a hundred years. The ACA may be a far cry from what our healthcare system should be, but its a night and day difference compared to what it used to be.

You missed their point: McCain stood by for years as Republicans eroded the I will watch tennis on a boat watch tennis here or there T-Shirt in contrast I will get this ACA. He hated it; his plan was for Republicans to repeal and replace it, he just didn’t like how they were going about it. “I was thanked for my vote by Democratic friends more profusely than I should have been for helping save Obamacare,” McCain said. “That had not been my goal.” Repeal and replace, but there was no actual plan for replacement. His vote still prevented us from losing the aca and having nothing to replace it with. The other republicans didnt care, qnd they voted to eliminate it anyway. He was still the only one who thought, hey maybe we shouldnt remove this until we have a sustainable alternative. It doesnt make him a good man, but it does make him much better than the others…..
