If he did it today, you should email the I was born to be a Nurse it’s who i am my calling passion T-Shirt moreover I will buy this academy owner (always leave a paper/electronic trail) today! Please don’t be a victim. 존대 does not hinder entitled psycho parents from harassing the teachers, it actually kind of helps the parents exercise the hierarchical power down to the teachers. As it requires the teachers to put extra effort to formulate properly polite Korean sentences, while the parents can spit out whatever impolite, derogatory sentences, but still with 존대 terminologies, when they feel like to in a form of 갑질. I feel that Korean society is at a cross roads and is currently suffering from an identity crisis (combining traditional Eastern Confucian culture with modern Western hyper individualism). The economy and infrastructure modernized so quickly and the culture is trying to catch up. The “growing pains” that other countries took centuries to get through, Korea is doing in decades. That’s why we see these massive swings from one extreme to another. My impression is that since the only thing that counts these days is that one’s kid achieves more than any other kid and thus complies with the parents’ grand scheme of making them win, everything else becomes “not a priority” or is even being accepted, as in, you let them misbehave in a lot of ways, eat whatever they want, give them money and tons of treats and bribes etc. – as long as they go to all their hagwon lessons and get the grades they need and don’t rebel against the plan already laid out for them. Teachers are not relevant anyway because until now (although Yoon is on a mission to change that) the public school curriculum is not the main basis for the suneung, and children therefore (rightfully, in fact) feel like they are wasting their time doing useless things that those useless teachers tell them to do…it does make sense, in a way…

I cannot seem to understand who would want to be a teacher with all the I was born to be a Nurse it’s who i am my calling passion T-Shirt moreover I will buy this disgusting behavior surrounding the profession. The only reason I can fathom is the most inspiring person in his/her life is/was a teacher. I would literally lose my shit the first day. Teachers are the most important job in society. FFS no one could do anything besides basic human functions without teachers. I remember a comic from a while back. In the past a kid got bad grades and the parents said to him, explain this. Now kids get bad grades and they ask the teacher to explain it. Maybe it’s not cultural, but a shift in education around the world. I would say that teachers physically abusing kids and going on power trips in the past (I remember a story of a university professor making students eat his poop), did probably influence the current situation. The students that were dramatized in the past are now the parents that aren’t respecting teachers.
