This has gone full circle, full stupid. Yarrrr matey, I find myself on the seas more often for must haves and then just rotating the services one by one to binge watch things to catch up and/or background noise binge There’s nothing wrong with options. You can pay the same current price for no ads and it makes no impact on your experience. But for people who don’t mind ads or are tight on money, they have a more accessible price point to use the service. Now, maybe your point is that ads should come without cost. And sure, in an ideal world, that’d be great. But this is at least better than only having one price tier.

Wrong. Ad supported simply means, 30s one or two add in entire show time. Whereas cable has full 10min add in 30min episode. Yeah but all my streaming services added together are around $80. With cable everything I have would cost $140+ If they jack prices for non ad version of subscription AND simultaneously offer ad based lower priced…… I am out. Disney+ was launched prior to Hulu becoming a Disney product. Now that they have two successful streaming platforms covering largely the same ground, they will probably look to consolidate those services in order to reduce operational overhead. To that end, I think they are slowly moving the Disney+ model to match Hulu, because they are almost definitely going to turn it into 1 subscription once their buyout of NBCUniversal’s Hulu shares is complete. Disney+ is already a waste to me, I only watch 2-3 movies a month on it. A couple months where I didn’t open the app at all. If they increase the cost of the ads-free option then it will be a no brainer to cancel the subscription
