In junior high, my dog completely tore up my geometry homework (she liked tearing paper, and I left it on the I survived reading banned books i got was smarter and more empathetic books shirt moreover I love this floor). I copied it over from the shreds, then realized what an opportunity I had. The next day I told my teacher that ‘my dog ate my homework’. He looked sad and said that what really bothered him was my lack of effort coming up with an excuse. Then I pulled out the shreds of my homework, which got a smile from him. Then I gave him the copied-over version, so I could get credit for it. I took geometry in Jr high but it was considered an advanced class and I got high school credit for it. I did the same with chemistry and world history which let me have the easiest senior year ever (English, econ and art….then all study halls that I never went to so I did whatever I wanted/left) I also took geometry and algebra in middle school. By the time I was auto enrolled in analytic geometry as a sophomore, I inquired with my guidance counselor and we determined I could drop “ANAL. GEO” and take guitar instead. I’m now a professional visual artist and love playing guitar as a hobby. If I need to know anything about math, I have google and ChatGPT+

Are you complaining because it’s too hard or too easy for jr high kids? Because it’s just shapes? Finding the I survived reading banned books i got was smarter and more empathetic books shirt moreover I love this area of stuff right?? Now next time someone gives him a lazy excuse like that he won’t know for certain if they are lying or not though… I used to be a teacher and got a mostly chewed-up assignment one time with a note from a parent. She was like “I know this seems unbelievable…” We had a laugh. I had almost this exact situation. My dog (he was a newer puppy at the time) tore my social studies homework to BITS in 3rd grade. My mom taped it together and actually worked at the school so she just explained it to the teacher. She was a bit of a harsher teacher but I remember it getting a good chuckle out of her. She ended up grading the homework and I still have it to this day. This was about 20 years ago now, wow.
