Besides general confidence / language learning / social skills / relationships etc, two things come to mind – where my life changed and where I changed someone else’s I was stressing over accepting masters degree offers – Australia for international relations or London (where I’m from) for a conflict and security studies masters degree. All fellow backpackers were saying to for Sydney. And the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and excitement of living overseas was tempting. But didn’t feel quite right. Having pizza with a friend at the salt flats in Bolivia, we started chatting with a retired English guy. He’d spent decades living in different countries. Told me I’d always get the chance to travel, but consider – as I’m spending money and investing in myself- doing what interested me and what would get me the career I wanted. And I’d still be able travel in the future

I don’t think I would have such self-assurance to hold those thoughts as grounding values had I not travelled in the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and first place. i lived in an indigenous community with a family for some time during covid when i was 18. they showed me the rituals and the meaning behind things, coming from western europe it was the first time being so aware of how cool nature ACTUALLY is and how gratitude is kinda nice. In central america. Second time when i was traveling i met my first and only love and thats this my biggest heartbreak. kinda deal with it daily, but it still teaches me a lot. this was in south asia 2023 🙂 Boosted my self confidence 150% 1.5 years solo backpacking across Asia really made me stronger as a man in a lot ways. Smarter too. More empathetic.
Not sure if it’s a major life change, but it boosted my confidence a lot. Being able to do it all on my own, in foreign countries where I didn’t speak a word of local language, far from home, and overcome hiccups and difficulties that arose on the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and way – it just made me see myself in a completely new light. Decided not to go to law school. Instead chose a career that allows me to have more pto and not work myself to death. I had the realization that I could/should go home and apply to medicine while I was on a big 10-month solo trip. Influenced by a friend and doctor that I met while travelling in India Time in Japan really changed how I organized and cleaned my house. Like keeping glasses in the freezer in summer so drinks are chilled. And just having less stuff in general, so you can see more of the floor, and wiping it down daily. But I learned that from living with Japanese people for months, not necessarily a vacation.

Where to buy this I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt
I went solo travelling for real this time last year, hit Australia, New Zealand and Thailand for almost 2 months. Went to Florence and New York later in the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and year. Currently on a flight to Bogota, no return flight booked, gonna stay out in South America for as long as I can afford. Broke up with my partner, moved back into my mum’s house. Now my only real outgoings are on travel. There’s too much to see I became a lot more independent after living abroad. My worldview changed a lot (became irreligious, more accepting to other ways of life). Minor inconveniences that seem to set off tantrums in the US barely register on my radar after living in Tier-3 China. Clean air? Drinkable tap water? Sweet. I feel better equipped to be unfazed by a larger amount of bullshit.
Yes. I have decided I no longer want to go back or settle down in my country.. I only go once a year to visit family and friends. Yes it has def made me realize I need to network with ppl who love to travel. Also my trip to DR really motivated my drive for sure. They made me realize I can step it up a whole lot to do the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and things I really want to do. I had always wanted to live overseas but was never really set on where to go. I also didn’t really have a career that was very mobile in that sense. In 2019 I was staying in a hostel in New York City and hit it off with one of my roommates. We had a lot of fun exploring the city together for about two days. We kept in touch intermittently over the years. Eventually he bought his own place in Melbourne and asked me if I wanted to rent the spare room. So I said fuck it, why not, quit my job, got my working holiday visa and we lived together for about six months. If it weren’t for him, I probably would not have ended up in Australia, where I’m currently absolutely vibing and enjoying the heck outta life.
I’m an introvert, and I love spending time with myself already. Solo travel is just another chance for me to enjoy some good ME time, and experiece new cultures. It has also taught me more about my stengths, and my weaknesses…that seem to disappear with each trip! And travel teaches me that “Less is more” is very true. I’m in rural areas of SE Asia every now and then, and to see how people make do with what they have really opened my eyes. In a positive way. I don’t need to “keep up with the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and Joneses to be happy”! Be happy with what you have. It’s enough! During my trip to SK, I discovered a sort of inner peace in a Confusian Temple on Jeju. Might be the start of a new journey for me. Who knows?! Looking at 2 possible destinations for the Fall, but as soon as I set foot in an airport, I get excited…ready for new adventures.
I met with an online friend, and I think she could see right through my people-pleaser tendencies as we haven’t talked since then, but the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and way she spoke about her hobbies, courses, and poems inspired me to culturally grow. Since covid, everything went down but 2023 was my year of recovery. Later on, I took a solo trip to SF. It made me realize that I still need polishing lol but it’s okay. I was born and raised in SF and later moved to a different country. I never went to Alcatraz till that trip which made me realize I’ve checked a lot of boxes child me had on her bucket list. I cried on my way back to the airport lol. I don’t feel the same as a year ago and a lot has to do with these experiences. Sometimes I feel ashamed of how much I’ve spent, but hadn’t I gone on those trips I would probably have more money in the bank but a lot of bitterness in my soul. Before my solo trip to Mexico & Central America, I distinctly remember being very anxious about safety, food, and whether I’d even enjoy the trip or not. I started getting a feeling that I made a huge mistake.
As it turns out, it was one of the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and best decisions of my entire life. I came out of it with a newfound confidence, a bigger desire for travel, and the powerful knowledge that there are places in the world which are very, very different to how they are portrayed by the media. Mexico in particular was worlds away from what you read in the news. Most of all, I learned that there are kind, wonderful people everywhere in the world. There are, of course, bad parts and bad people as well, but a vast majority of people the world over are just living their life. First time I traveled I backpacked through parts of Europe, China, an South East Asia. Ended up moving back to China for 4 years of and on. Met my wife, got married, moved to Singapore together, have been here for almost ten years, had a baby last year and are about to buy a house here. I decided life is too short to not travel and that I’d love to live in a city close to other countries I’d like to visit on trips. Living in Bratislava on a tri-border really opens your eyes. One could argue my home city Sofia isn’t too far from Serbia and North Macedonia buy I’m not interested in them and their cultures are really too similar. Romania seems more exotic speaking a Romance language and the French influence on Bucharest so I’m considering moving in Ruse.
I was kinda hoping travel would change me a little. In a way it did, especially solo travel. I learnt to rely on myself more to make decisions and gotten more confident that I can work out how navigate around foreign public transport systems. I learnt that I can approach randoms and ask for help with directions or strike up conversations at hostels. I was all about saving money and saving for the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and future. I went to Europe for the first time in 2022 with my cousin and my aunt and uncle. Aunt and uncle are in their 70s, didn’t really go out much because they got tired easily, so it was just me and my cousin exploring. I realized that I don’t want to be like them, I don’t want to wait to travel until I retired. You can always earn money. I want to enjoy life now, I’m in my 30s btw.
So many brave and adventurous people here. I’m just one solo trip down but I sure love telling people I did it and want to go again. I feel like I’m also giving my similar older friends the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and inspiration to try it too. For me it’s given me the freedom and confidence to pick my own destinations and know I’ll be fine. I’ve been to Paris a few times and I found that I preferred the Parisian way of dressing. I felt most comfortable there when I wore a black shirt and black jeans or dark blue jeans, along with simple sneakers. I mostly wear black now along with some neutrals. I used to wear plaid shirts a lot and dress kind of office casual/preppy—not anymore! I’ve been interested in clothes for a long time, and I used to dress to make a positive impression and look “respectable” and put together in an office environment. Now I dress like a stereotypical musician or bartender or artist. It’s easier and feels more stylish. It’s freeing to let go of my old wardrobe that feels, in retrospect, like it was calculated to garner the approval of others. Luckily, I work in a very casual field, so I don’t need to dress a certain way to go to work. My typical outfit is black boots or black & white sneakers, black or dark blue jeans, a black t-shirt, along with a black sweatshirt or over-shirt, and finally a black jacket or coat. Sometimes I’ll wear a camel overcoat or gray-green scarf, but I keep it simple and I keep color to a minimum.
I have confidence that I can see the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and world and I don’t have to wait to meet Mr.Right or to fit into friends vacation plans. I can dictate when to go, where to go and how it all looks. And although travelling with friends has it’s enjoyable aspects solo travel was way more fun than I dreamed. I’m middle aged and I’ve live my life in a rural place of 1000 people with no street lights to speak of – and I traipsed through Central Europe alone and managed to navigate the transit system of Budapest! It was empowering and opened up so many possibilities. Best thing I ever did, just for me.
Bear in mind this was the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and mid 90’s when kids were actually quite unhinged when it came to racism, homophobia or any kind of intolerance, at least in my school anyway. I assume and hope things are better now. We had an English teacher that was absolutely brilliant at his job, but quite frankly didn’t like everything that came with teaching. If there was ever a strict rule that came into force he would be the first to pooh-pooh it and as a result we all gained a lot of respect for him It wasn’t so much what he said, it’s what he did. Sometimes he would just go completely off the wall. One day he brought in a drum kit. Another, we had all been watching Shawshank Redemption as part of a coursework topic on film. He loved it so much that he decided to host his own and locked a really shitty kid in the cupboard behind his desk (walk in wardrobe sized) and joked that he would need to Andy Dufrane his way out. Well the kid, who had actually taken a shine to the teacher, decided to make him proud, so climbed the shelves and took a ceiling tile out to climb into the ceiling and back into our classroom. Cue him making an almighty mess with tiles strewn across the floor, and I’ll never forget the caretaker coming in and we all stood by and backed the teacher when he tried explaining that they had just “fallen out” after what seemed like a gust of wind from the window. We all were trying not to laugh so much.
In year 11, nearing the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and end of our time in school we’d grown quite fond of her. She was a great teacher after all who was passionate and taught us well. We were talking amongst ourselves about something crude and she walked past and said “You’d better stop that conversation or I’ll get the carrot out” and carried on walking like nothing. She was about 70, has the voice of a 60 a day smoker, looked like Lilly Savage, and had a laugh like Sid James. She didn’t give a shit, and it was amazing! We loved having her! She didn’t remember names, so gave kids nicknames which were always a bit questionable, but the one that stands out was what Lucy got. Lucy was ‘Lastic’. We, as a class, asked why, and she casually explained – ‘Lastic! Like loose elastic! Because I bet your knickers are always falling down around the boys!’, followed by that Sid James dirty cackle.
We thought it was funny, because pants down=funny, but looking back, she was basically calling that 8 year old girl a slut… At uni we had a lecturer who only wanted to be at the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and uni to support his research work but the terms of his employment required him to do x hours of teaching every week. This guy was a miserable fuck and would dial in every session he delivered. One day a fellow student asked this lecturer to explain something to him and he replied to the student “use the internet, its not my job to teach you”. This happened just as the course head (a former Royal Marine who took no shit at all) walked in. The course head overheard and got right in this lecturer’s face and growled “if its not your job to teach then what the fuck are these fine folk paying tuition fees for?”.
Some of the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and other lecturers were brilliant and I now have a career in the subject that one of them taught so well. This is reminding me of those weird Victorian teacher laws that meant they could never ride in the same coach as a student. One of my physics teachers used to hang out around the back of the school smoking weed with sixth formers. Turns out he was a massive punk and had actually been the singer of a moderately successful punk band in his earlier life. I remember at my sixth form leavers’ disco, one of the geography teachers kept coming out to the smoking area and asking if it was just tobacco we were smoking. When we all said yes, he’d say ‘good’, and pinch a cigarette. Eventually, someone answered ‘no’, and he paused, then said ‘good’, and joined in. To be fair, I can’t imagine chaperoning that event would be tolerable without some help.
Had an English teacher from South Africa in secondary school who occasionally said off the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and cuff almost racist things. One day a kid in our class was staring out of the window not paying the slightest bit of attention and the teacher shouted ‘Mohammed! What are you doing? Facing East?’ My English teacher when I was in year 10 was making us read Of Mice and Men, one kid was blasting out some shite rap music from his walkman phone (the kid died many years later after years of addiction problems, very sad) – the teacher was trying to get us to explain our thoughts on the book etc and Lennie and George’s relationship (having watched a film version of said book because the teacher didn’t give a fuck), anyway having had enough he tells said kid to turn his phone off or fuck off out of his lesson – those exact words. The kid throws a pencil case at the teacher, whose only reaction is to throw the actual of mice and men book back at said kid, hitting him spine first square between his eyes. The look of fear on his face still hits me (particularly when your scouse teacher who clearly likes a scrap on the weekends).
The kid ran off out of the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and class room and theatrically punched a wall, the teacher said ‘Well he’s our version of Lennie, but I’m not allowed a gun’. I remember when we saw the film and as soon as Lennie said his first line, everyone stared at me and the teacher said hey now, he (I) can’t help being retarded. Only thing was, I was never anything like that character. Guy had scrawled “Peter is a wank” across Peter’s jotter. English teacher spotted this and in his loud booming voice said “Don’t worry Peter, they’re ALL at it”. OK, for this to work, I need to know if you remember that thing lads did (and it usually was lads) where you someone would stand against a wall, take a load of fast deep breaths (till they started to feel light headed) and then you’d cross their arms over their chest and then two of you would push while they held their breath and they’d pass out…
Well let me transport you to a rural High School in the I survived Khux without even spending a cent shirt and by the same token and North East of England in the late 90s. One afternoon, five lads arrived outside the Chemistry lab slightly early for Double Chemistry. We were way early, we got bored… we decided to do this to Stephen. He backed against the wall, crossed his arms, we all pressed, Stephen held his breath… His eyes closed, his head lolled to the left, we all let go, and Stephen dropped to the floor like a felled tree! Only he didn’t wake up, he lay there, his heels drumming on the floor as he had a full seizure! We all looked at each other, like… fuuucccckkkkkk. Only then Mr Procter, the Science teacher rounded the corner, took one look at 4 guilty-as-fuck, looking lads, and another turning his brain into cottage cheese, and descended on Stephen. Somehow he managed to bring him round, and got him packed off to a first aider. He then lined us up along the wall and SCREAMED at us, that “We were a pack of FUCKING IMBECILES and he hopes that’s the closest we’ll ever get to killing someone, because God-knows, we very nearly managed it today”
