But a person can also be “gemütlich”, which is something like a less strong “lazy” with less negative connotation. Maybe a bit like “chill” but also not quite. It describes someone who doesn’t stress to much, and if given the choice prefers to sit in a cozy place rather than say be busy or explore their surroundings. Often they can be a bit on the slower side in mannerisms, reaction, speech etc but not too much. ” like farts on tile” is a phrase we say about someone who is only good at talking not actually doing something English idioms are often completely different in French. I still have a hard time w some idioms and I’ve lived here for many years. For example the American expression “ I’m so hungry I could eat a horse “ is “J’ai les crocs « ( I’m so hungry I grew fangs) My husband laughs at me and says w American expressions I am often too literal. In Germany you can say “ich könnte/will ein halbes Schwein auf Toast essen” -> “I could/ want to eat half a pig on toast” if you’re very hungry lol. Or “ich habe Kohldampf!”, Not even sure how to pronounce that literally. Probably “coalsteam” but it’s only ever used referring to big hunger never to actual coals.

Here on reddit some people first complains about my bad english then understands that its not my main language, mostly because how I put freases toghether. I tend to think my native and translate. Often said to people, usually kids, who are doing something unnecessary that’s bound to get them in trouble.
