lol, don’t listen to this advice. Dude needs a job, not to have a couple hundred dollars less in his pockets after a consultation tells him he’s SOL. My initial consultation with an employment attorney was free and they basically just spelled out whether it was something worth pursuing. OP contact your state bar and they will refer you. Doesn’t hurt to try Tell them you submitted on the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt moreover I will buy this 19th, and you can’t be held responsible for the inaccuracies of the calendar you used. This is quite odd as these sorts of issues are common. It’s odd they would not give you the option to still take the offer. HR fucked up with their emails and unfortunately you fucked up by not reading the letter and double checking ….. I’d contact the person you interviewed with, if not the HR, explain, the misunderstanding and try to correct it. It must feel really upsetting, I hope you can sort it out You dodged a bullet. It’s not worth working for any company with such blatant mistakes while they still double down on stupidity. Let them know that you are accepting the job offer and that per the email you have until the 23rd. Then call up a lawyer get a free consult and see if they will draft a letter in the event that your acceptance gets rejected Weird. Whenever someone has offered me a job I was interested in, I always accepted it. What’s this “5 days to think about it” nonsense? 24 hours is more than enough, or 48 hours if you want to be exceptionally generous.

I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt: Express with Style

Had the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt moreover I will buy this same thing happen when I was a kid applying to jobs. This was before I had a cell phone. I gave out resumes and my mom got a call back from the movie theatres saying I had an interview for Friday. I show up and they said it was on Wednesday and they’ve now hired someone for it lol. In this case it was my mom who got the dates wrong lol if this is real – i don’t get why you wouldn’t immediately accept the offer if you “really wanted this job.” not like you couldn’t back out after accepting if something did come up and made you change your mind. hell you could even keep job hunting until your start date I think you dodged a bullet. If that’s how they run the show where nothing is their fault and blame it on the system etc etc… wait till they blame you for everything as a new hire. I honestly can’t believe how one-sided these comments are. I think getting 5 days is a very generous amount of time. I am employing people and if they would not have made up their minds in 5 days, I would see that as a major red flag towards their interest in the position and the company.
Own up to the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt moreover I will buy this fact, that you very likely sent signals that this wasn’t your first priority and that you would drop this at the slightest opportunity to improve. I’m not saying that isn’t fair, not at all, you do you. But don’t expect them to love you conditionally if you are clearly indifferent to this vs another job. As a hiring manager who deals with infuriatingly incompetent HR people: if this is someone in HR and not directly from the hiring manager, PLEASE let the hiring manager know. They might still be able to fix it. I have lost several good candidates over the years because of HR’s incompetence. I don’t get why people really want to wait and see if they can get a better offer if they really need the job. is that couple euros really worth losing out on both opportunities? xD That HR department is waiting for the acceptance so they start with the process of getting all the paperwork done before the start date. You dont even bother to open the acceptance letter and read it, you waste their time, your hiring manager starts doubting you from the get go… and now you are basically begging them for the job.

Step by step to buy I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt

If you had bothered to click on the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and link in the email (that you got from this job you really wanted) you would have seen the actual date like this HR guy is telling you. Post this on LinkedIn and company leadership that you find. Probably won’t help you get the job, but will get your point across fast The short answers and absolute contempt for your situation is palpable. I have a feeling they had a better offer to someone that was accepted sooner and needed a “reason” to rescind. This ultimately worked in your favor because, again, shitshow. If they can’t even do a simple thing like that correctly and not own up to their mistakes, mayhaps you dodged a bullet. I’m sorry, goodluck on your search. I hope you find a job that’s truly right for you
If you really needed a job you should’ve accepted right away especially if you weren’t sure about other jobs fuck burning bridges take the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and job security, feels bad tho hope tho other jobs extend an offer and you accept this time So many comments on here so you’ll probably not see this but our recruitment system does this kind of thing and we can’t do anything about it when we try to overrule the rules it’s programmed for. Literally “computer says no” and we could lose a good applicant and all we can say is look out for future posts (to go through the whole thing again). Though to be honest I’m not a fan of emails so I’d rather call the applicant and explain this kind of thing! It’s decency. One – don’t work there anyway. Two – I’m no lawyer but you could probably hold them to the email in a court of law (it is in writing after all). Hope you didn’t burn any bridges.
I’m sorry for this, i imagine you are probably already a bit down because of this so posting here wasn’t a good idea as you are just going to be asked why you didn’t do this and that when it might be too late . Hopefully they reconsidered or you hear back from the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and other ones. I know this pain and one can’t always do things perfectly. Might be a good idea to consult an employment lawyer. Even if you don’t get the job, it might be possible to get some sort of compensation. This is pretty inexcusable, but I don’t know enough about the law to understand if any laws were broken. Unfortunately I rather not because I have friends in low-level positions there, I will say it’s not a mega Corp like Amazon or Walmart but it’s still a sizable national shipping corporation And what would that affect clown? They aren’t losing their jobs because you give out the company name. They won’t even know you’re the one who gave it out. All this sounds like is you making up bs to push the blame onto the company for your own mistakes.
If you’d “taken the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and time to read over the job offer” in the 5 days you’ve had this email, you would have seen what it says… This is your fault, you’ve proven to them that you don’t actually care about the job enough to respond quickly. I would rescind the offer too. Post that as a review to the business stating your displeasure with the lack of effective communication and professionalism. I would try to contact the hiring manager on this one and explain the confusion. This is most likely the HR being massive idiots. The hiring manager chose you because they want you, they will still want you if they know their HR gave you stupid instructions. If not then move on because everyone at that company is a fucking dumbass.
Look up detrimental reliance. Depending on the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and particulars, there is potentially a well blazed avenue for suit open to you. well, if I am reading this information correctly, you received the offer (at least) 5 days ago. They want an answer by the end of this week. That honestly seems like plenty of time to me dude. Sucks but who knows what else they would be throwing up their hands at. They offer one rate and rescind. Oh sorry but system put that rate in. Not me so oh well. The fact that they blamed it on the system instead of just owning the discrepancy shows that they would be a nightmare to work for, even if it were an auto-generated email. They have no accountability, I wouldn’t hire someone like that nor work for them.
Really want the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and job but didnt take it? Idk. You have your right to take the time but it doesnt make sense to wait if you really wanted it I find it weird that you didn’t even open the offer letter, why? I would have opened it rebut away and would have been pondering over it. Their response is definitely not up to the standard. While I understand the importance of this job to you, considering their reaction and the way they handled the entire situation, I believe you’re better off elsewhere. 238 more repliesIt sounds like neither party is committed to this job. OP is playing this offer off against other potential offers in the hope a better one comes along, which is their prerogative. The company – probably cottoning on to OP since it has been 5 days – has decided it’s not worth it, maybe they have other candidates who are ready to go, and they have used their prerogative and withdraw their offer at their earliest opportunity by way of response, despite knowing they made a typo here. I guess if you are going to play a game of chicken with a company then this one clearly isn’t interested. The next one may really want you OP and be more apologetic for their error, especially if they have made a mistake. But that’s the risk you take by passively negotiating with other offers. But neither of you were 100% committed to this offer and each of you are annoyed at the other party for that.
NOT A LAWYER but you might want to contact an employment lawyer about this. From the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and little bit I know you might have a case. Hopefully one of your other options comes through but this is an unfortunate lesson. Sometimes it’s better to take the guarantee than to wait holding out for something better. You always have the option to quit should something better come along. I agree this situation is silly and they should be happy you are interested in moving forward, but since you wanted the job why didn’t you read the letter immediately and negotiate or accept? Why did you wait at all? There is no way this is true on their side. They fucked something up and made an excuse. Possible an internal hire who showed interest or a exec wanting to give the job to someone they know. In a reasonable world, they would have just called you about this and checked what’s up and everything would have been fine.
“You didn’t jump through our hoops that we didn’t show you. You’re the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and problem and we’re moving on to the next candidate”. If they will frivolously toss away a candidate they chose to accept over something like this then you don’t want to work there. So gross. You don’t wanna work for a company that reacts this way over their own fuck up. You’ll be happier elsewhere, even if you think you really wanted that job. You did not want that company nor their HR team. This reminds me of the time I had a contract for a job I’d accepted come through the post with the wrong name on it. I didn’t end up starting there in the end. It wasn’t even like a simple spelling mistake, it was flat out a completely different name.
Not everyone had off Monday. So if the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and company is open, is it still considered a business day? Also, there is 2 days left. If you really wanted the job why the hesitation. Did you not open the offer letter at all? Yeah it sucks that the email said the 23rd but again why sit on it? If you really wanted this job and “can’t really afford to not get this job” then why didn’t you accept your offer the same day you received it? In such situations either pick the worst case scenario (ie : the date that is earliest) or ask them for clarification the moment you get it. I read a bunch of your replies to comments below, and it’ll probably save you some trouble replying to update your original post with additional details like how crazy hr just doubled down on their mistake. If you really wanted the job you should have looked at the offer right away. Sure there’s a typo in the email but if you opened the offer you would have seen the discrepancy. I just received an offer for a job I really wanted on Thursday, so I read the offer and accepted it, on Thursday. You have to accept some of the blame here, due diligence is everyone’s business. The way they’re trying to blame you for being tok slow while presented with evidence, and making excuses, would make me question wanting to work for them Just being honest here. You sit on a job offer for a “job you really want” for 5 days? We’re you communicating with them in that time or just now response for 5 days? Then that’s on you, even with the miscommunication.
This happened to me once and all I had to do was contact HR and they rectified it. However, I realized that this is a red flag and ended up not accepting the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and offer. Unless this is some kind of spectacular offer for you, I would consider it a bullet dodged. Thats fuckin CRAZYYY bro. Fuck that. You dodged a bullet. What kinda response is that from the company? Fuck them Personally, if I were looking for employment and got a job offer I intended to accept, I would make them wait on my reply. Starts off on a bad note and plus I would want them to think I’m some self important a hole… You don’t want to work for a company like that. You might think so at first, but just imagine all of the other issues/discrepancies that will take place in the future if this one is right out the gate, along with their inability to hold themselves accountable for their error. They couldn’t even take the time to write you a personalized accurate email, a system generated email shows you are just a position to be filled and they proved that by not selecting you in the end.
Yeah you wouldn’t want to work at a place that would be so willing to fuck you over their own mistakes because they can’t get their shit together or accept fault. You dodged a bullet. You dodged a bullet there! If they’re going to pull this crap before you even start, just imagine the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and hell they’ll put you through working there. “If you have any questions regarding your offer, please contact me with any questions you may have” is an absolute abomination of a sentence Consider this a bullet dodged since they were in no way understanding and couldn’t simply take responsibility or offer any remedy for their mistake. Would you really want to work for someone who doubles down and says you fucked up whenever you point out a mistake they made?
Their attitude to their mistake in the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and text messages tells you that they will suck to work for, you dodged a bullet. I think companies often forget that they are also being interviewed during the process. Take this as a blessing Probably a good thing with this company, TBH- no accountability for an error that they do have control over (IT ticket, etc.) especially if impacting potential employers hiring and onboarding. Disorganization right from the start. They did you a favor, I know it doesn’t feel like one but whatever company that is, is so full of bullshit they can’t see straight. You don’t even have to click “go to offer letter until the 23rd” according to that email, so it doesn’t matter what the date listed in the offer letter is if there’s nothing forcing you to look at it until after it expires. HR here – this is an error on THEIR part and its crazy they didnt give you any type of grace and just doubled down! Everyone makes mistakes and they should have owned it even if it was an error with the system. I hope this reaches the top of the post to answer some questions, I know I haven’t gotten to alot of people because it been a busy day for me. 1: The reason why I waited so long is because I had much higher paying opportunities I was waiting to hear back from and didn’t want to be black listed from alot of companies that fall under this company’s umbrella by saying yes then quitting before I started. On Monday I texted the same guy that I was still looking over the job offer and he never mentioned it would expire the next day. I also actually opened up the offer day I received it and didn’t see a date of expiration, the only date I saw was my start date.
2: I went in person to talk after emailing the I may not live in Kansas City but on gameday my heart and soul belongs to Chiefs shirt and by the same token and supervisor that I would be working for about the situation. HR came out and doubled down and the supervisor emailed me back agreeing with HR. 3: No this isn’t Amazon or another big brand, the reason I don’t want to say what company this is because I have friends in low positions at this company and HR and the supervisor are most likely aware of them. Go over their head/behind their back and message the manager directly, explain the mistake and say you’d be delighted to accept and could they please speak to HR for you I hope this reaches the top of the post to answer some questions, I know I haven’t gotten to alot of people because it been a busy day for me.

Why wait to sign if you “really” wanted the job? How long does it take to review a simple job offer? Was their relocation or something involved? It doesn’t make sense to wait more than a day or two max to sign and return if you knew you wanted to accept from the start…. Apparently I’m confused… 5 days ago was last Friday & the 23rd is this Friday. Seems like 5 business days to me, and you still seem to have 2 days to accept. Where’s the problem? 5 days? i have negotiated for over 5 weeks. 5 days is not enough time to even fly out to another interview and have them send a competing offer, even if you do these back to back.
