They’re dropping by the millions each year. In 2013 there were 100m households with some form of paid TV. It’s now 76M and expected to drop to 72m by 2023. They got greedy and there are simply better options available. If the cinemas don’t sort their shit out people will just stay home, wait a couple weeks and view that shit on HBO or some other streaming service. And now because of so many steaming services and price hikes, people like me are subscribing for a month at a time and binging, then moving on to another service. Oh, they’ll learn alright- just the wrong lessons. Just wait until they don’t offer individual streaming services anymore and make you buy a bundle. Other direction bud, streaming used to be bundled, but once Netflix paved the way, every single network has pulled their content off of the major streaming services catalogs and launched their own streaming service. There has literally been an ongoing war being fought over the rights for smaller studios / independent and older content as the networks and streaming services attempt to buy up more content that they can say is exclusive to them.

If anything, this gets worse and worse, 2030 is fixing to look like the I Love The Woman I’ve Become Because I Fought To Become Her Shirt Furthermore, I will do this average family having 10-15 $20/mo different streaming services at a time. Also, the streaming companies will eventually put a stop to the single month subscribers who join for a month to binge everything of interest and not come back again for a year. They’ll add max number of streams /hours per month for different plans/tiers, or they’ll charge you $80/mo going month to month but $199 for the year if you pay up front. Fuck Cable. I can’t watch everything on-demand with cable (only certain stuff that the cable company allows me to watch on-demand or I have to use TiVo to pre-record and fuck that noise). Ala-a-carte streaming services will always be better than cable. Yep. I had directv for over 20 years as I live in the mountains and don’t have many choices or antenna coverage. I finally cancelled and I don’t really miss it. They have like 15 channels that are even worth trying to find something to watch, but fill it with worthless channels so they can advertise how many options.
