I have never ever ever wanted a child, I lack even the most most basic of maternal instincts (if such a thing even exists) and honestly? Probably a good thing. I’ll lavish my attention on my wife and on my friends. There are enough abandoned children out there that if I wanted one, it would be selfish and irresponsible for me to say that I want a new one, while leaving those abandoned in the system to have horrible lives. If I felt guilty enough about those in the foster care system, while not having kids and not wanting kids, I could donate the money I would otherwise be spending on my own child to organizations that focus on those children.

I understand people wanting their own child. But, the I Like Sobriety Coffee and Maybe 3 People T-Shirt In addition,I will do this world has changed so much from needing to populate the earth and extend our bloodlines into a world where we are overpopulated and the concern is about those people who are currently on born (rather than making more). I don’t think I would enjoy motherhood. I’ve done a lot of growing and healing from my childhood. I’ve taken on a lot of mentorship type roles. I love kids and do some volunteer work with them. I have even been told I would be a good mother. I just know what being a parent, especially a mother, requires, and I don’t want to do that. I moved across the country and went to grad school. My job is pretty demanding, but honestly, I feel like most jobs are these days. I’m very active, I work out about 3-4 times a week. I’m working on my Spanish, I’m even reading my first book in Spanish. I volunteer. I go to concerts. I live in a great city where you can meet all kinds of people. I travel a good amount. I don’t feel like my life is missing anything. I’m in a really good position where if I wanted to make something happen, I could. I don’t have to worry about how it would affect my kids. I can just follow all my dreams or even just random little whims I may have. I love my life. I want to do stuff and I barely have energy to do stuff now, how will I be able to do anything if I have children? And give up my sleep? Nope. My sister suffered sleep deprivation for 6 months with her first kid. “It’s only 6 months for a lifetime of a wonderful child!” you say. It’s literally a form of torture.
