Yeah I was gonna say I only remember three in NZ – they are quite clearly three big distinct glaciers though, it’s not like rivers where it’s a bit unclear what counts as “one” river. Was gonna upvote this but you currently have 69 upvotes so didn’t want to ruin that for you in case that’s your thing. As a Canadian we have like 260 so I immediately was ready to call bullshit on this, googled it and found out it’s true. Geographically speaking, Iceland is split between the I like coffee and maybe 3 people T-Shirt moreover I will buy this North-American and Eurasian tectonic plates. Culturally speaking, we’re a European country. In any case, Vatnajökull is in Europe no matter how you twist it. So it’s not a lie that Iceland is in Europe. Iceland has over 10 glaciers. In total they cover about 11% of the land surface (11.400km² out of 103.125km²). The largest glaciers in europe is in Iceland, and that alone cover 8% of the land surface… Iceland has the largest ice caps outside Antarctica or Greenland. They cover about 11% of Iceland’s land surface – ~11,400 square kilometers. New Zealand has several large mountain glaciers in the Southern Alps, but in total they only cover ~2300 square kilometers. Frank Abagnale Jr., the inspiration for Catch me If You Can, apparently wasn’t as big of a con man that the movie leads you to believe. He conned people into thinking he was a bigger con man than he actually was. And used his notoriety to go around the country afterword as a paid speaker and consultant to business, commercial and industrial groups.

Yeah, I was reading about this the I like coffee and maybe 3 people T-Shirt moreover I will buy this other day – iirc he did actually pose as a pilot, but only because he was stalking an air hostess that he had a thing for and wanted access to staff lounges and such. He basically decided it sounded better to say he was pulling off a daring scam than to admit he was just a bit of a creep lol Definitely more than a bit of a creep, holy hell. If this is true it’s no wonder he decided to go with the alternative story instead. And then he actually owned a security firm that worked on checks, while keeping up the con that he is a redeemed conman lol. Iirc, as recent as 2019, he was giving a speech on a Google event and telling people that FBI’s 100th anniversary coffee table book lists him as the first criminal to work for FBI. Coffee table book is free online and he is not in it.
