Then you gotta add in two more things, 1) I myself used to be a conservative until I discovered I was bisexual, Laveyan Satanism makes a lot of sense, and anarchy is great, (that was one hell of a year ngl). And 2) I really, really like to argue. Like it is an addiction. It isn’t my I Just Need To Be Dramatic Lazy Panda Bear T-Shirt and by the same token and job to win hearts and change minds. I will cut these people out when I believe they are too far gone to help, but as someone who represents everything they hate who used to think like them I believe I am uniquely positioned to push for more acceptance. Could be narcissistic, could be fruitless, but I have had a whole lot of conversations with these people where I make them question shit. I even turned my most homophobic friend into a straight up ally through these tactics by just having hours and hours of arguments.

Well I upvoted you, because I recognize the I Just Need To Be Dramatic Lazy Panda Bear T-Shirt and by the same token and value of this viewpoint. I don’t argue with right-wingers because they add nothing to my life, they’re not rational, and you have to wade through a huge amount of offensive opinion to get to a point where you can debate a point. It’s a strategy with them to exhaust you with offensiveness. I don’t have time. But I know there are some who are right wing out of whatever insufficiency/conditioning/ignorance. And those people can be reached. But it’s damn hard work and I’m not gonna do it. I figure that, when someone calls a person “friend” and still espouses views that say “I have to kill you,” the cognitive dissonance is too deep for conversation to overcome and the best thing is to remove oneself from their lives as a potential target, and them from one’s own life as a source of strife and anguish. “THESE TRANSES ARE SO GROSS AND DISGUSTING AND I HATE THEM, GOD, THEY ANNOY ME AND I JUST WANT TO DO HORRIBLE THINGS TO THEM. THEY SHOULD NOT EXIST”
