Last week he called me. Sounded sad and lost. Told me that a lot had happened. His family had found him a girl (25F) in India and the girl’s family was in a rush. They wanted them married ASAP. He agreed and they scheduled the engagement for June. I congratulated him and wished him the best. I would be lying if I said I didn’t die a little on the inside after hearing the news. He was like…”I know I should be happy but I am not. I cannot stop thinking about you. I don’t feel the connection with her and am ready to call off the entire thing if we can make this work.” The thing is this guy has not been consistent. He comes across as sweet and warm when we talk but after that he is MIA. There are days when I don’t hear from him at all. We were taking it slow because he told me he couldn’t get into anything serious unless he met me in real life, which made sense. I reminded him during the last call that he had not met this other girl too but had said yes to the arrangement. He is flying down next month for the engagement and wants to meet up. A part of me wants to meet him too but the rationale part of me says it is a bad idea. Would appreciate any advice.This and if possible tell the other AM girl too and save her too. I am blaming indecisive people like the guy here and parents who force their son/daughter to marry someone of their(parent’s) choice. Yup, what kind of guy is going for his engagement and still interested in the other girl. I think he still does not know what relationship means. Don’t Marry someone who makes you a back up. If he liked you and respected you, he should have let you know that he is moving on. That’s basic decency. What’s this “his parents found him a girl” nonsense ?? That’s a clear word play. It’s not as if his parents forced him to marry. This dude was fully interested to marry this other lady . He now has buyers remorse (not intending to convey that wife is husband’s property or anything like that, just using the word) and probably feels that match no. 2 is not right and the alliance will need to be called off. He will be single soon and he thought he should ask you as he need not start from scratch. You don’t need to be a genius to figure this out. I think there are tons of decent people who know what they want and are genuinely interested to marry you. They won’t ghost you suddenly for a better match. And I am honestly a bit skeptical about that engagement thing. It could be one of those moves to make sure the girl says yes , I guess.
