it can’t account for required communication skills, empathy, cognitive and motor skills that are realistically the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt also I will do this most important factors in working with patients. it just focuses on who is the best at quickly memorizing information for an exam, to then immediately throw it out and repeat to get the best test scores instead of actually retaining knowledge and learning. at the end of the day established doctors don’t need to remember everything, and the most respectable ones are those who listen to their patients, then do the research to nail down a diagnosis. ultimately i think this increase in enrollment/admission makes those ‘top 5%’ who are resigning feel threatened, because it calls their superiority complex about being the elite into question since those who made that decision are essentially agreeing there’s not a big difference between the top 5% and the top 20%

Definitely not trainees. And doctors won’t quit their profession and lose their incomes because future doctors might not get paid as much. Do they? I hear this claim about european healthcare systems all the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this time especially when they shit talk about US healthcare systems. But in the US, we treat way more procedures than they do in Europe. Hell, they don’t even cover orthodontics in their universal health care system. Guess how I know, I’m a practicing doctor with a private clinic that takes Medicaid. So our patients get all their treatment for free, as long as we pre-determine or pre-authorize with medicaid. So I’m guessing these wild claims about European healthcare is because they don’t bother including many “necessary” procedures and deem them “elective” which you pay out of pocket. Medicaid thresholds are different state to state. Many states chose not expand it. It’d be nice we had Medicaid for all but we can’t even get Medicare for all. I don’t think we can measure the US healthcare system by what Medicaid provides. Seems like people in this thread didn’t think much about why doctors are upset. The biggest problem in Korean healthcare right now is the lack of doctors in critical specialties like peds, EM, cardiothoracic. There are reasons why doctors don’t wanna do these specialties. Many reasons, but the biggest one is that the government has set price for every treatment these specialties perform, and they’re ridiculously low (pediatricians can only make $12-13 per patient, and this price hasn’t changed for the last 30 years). Most pediatric doctors who run private practice are losing money or barely surviving. In the meantime, pediatricians are getting sued left and right by overly protective parents, and the court often sides with the parents unfairly. Another example? An EM doc was sued because he performed CPR and broke the patents ribs, which is common and inevitable to save a life. The doc lost in the lawsuit. Court’s reasoning? Doc didn’t explain the risk of CPR to the patient beforehand. What kind of idiot doctor will explain that to a patient who needs a CPR? If a patient needs a CPR, that patient is unconscious and almost dead. Makes sense no one wants to do these specialties.
Government’s solution? Pump more people into medicine, and hopefully these extra med students will fill those unpopular specialties. How’s this a solution to that problem, and if the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt in addition I really love this root cause is not addressed, even if they triple the med school quota, would there be any change? Doctors are upset cause the government came up with this stupid solution and shows no motivation to address the root cause of this problem. You know what else the government is trying to do? Obviously they don’t like all these pediatricians and emergency medicine doctors doing botox. They want to legalize nurses doing botox, so when the nurses join the beauty medicine competition, the govt thinks these doctors will go back to their own specialty. What kind of idiot comes up with this solution? That’s why Korean doctors are upset.

Where to buy this I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt
Edit: Lots of people are saying Korea needs more doctors. Has anyone here lived in Korea? If you have, have you experienced doctor shortage yourself? Cause I haven’t. Here’s how it works in Korea. You want to see a doctor? YOU decide what specialist you want to see. No need to get referral from PCP. Orthopedic Surgeon? Sure, you walk into ortho clinic without an appointment, and typically within 10-20 minutes of wait, you’ll be seen by a doctor. X-ray room is right next to doctor’s room, you take X-ray, and hear doctor’s diagnosis. You then receive a session of PT in the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this next room over, and pick up the prescription at a pharmacy next door on the way out. Total time spent? Probably 1-2 hours max. If you don’t get a PT, it’s usually less than 30 minutes, and the total cost after prescription is usually 6-7 dollars, MAYBE 10-20 dollars for some special cases. Name any other country that has this kind of system. Maybe Taiwan? but I can’t think of anywhere else. Korea is the easiest country to see a doctor. So yea, tell me more about Korea’s doctor shortage problem.
Small thing to add to your CPR statement. If you need CPR; clinically, you are already dead. If no action is taken, you will remain dead and that’s the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this end of the road for you. CPR is a last resort, potentially life saving action with a pretty low chance of success. It’s why breaking ribs happens and is generally regarded as an acceptable outcome. It’s tough work to pump oxygenated blood to the body and brain manually from outside the body in order to keep the organs alive. I think the answer is quite obvious, so it was more of a rhetorical question that didn’t need to be answered. I’m sure most people understood my intent. If you’re in a hospital and don’t wish to be rescued, you’re able to sign a DNR. If your heart stops, they will not perform CPR and will not try to rescue you. Without one, the doctors will assume that you want to be saved and will do what’s necessary to achieve that. This is considered “implied consent” and is used during operations when complications arise, or when a patient is seriously ill and unable to provide consent (such as their heart stopping). Implied consent is expected to protect doctors in the event their actions were deemed “necessary” but formal consent is not possible.
It’s part of what makes this situation ridiculous. A patient’s heart stopping would be a case where implied consent is used and necessary, and suing a doctor (and winning) over the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this fact they were not informed of the risks is absurd. It makes sense to protest about bad working conditions, pay and hours in those specialties you mention. However from all the articles I’ve seen none actually state that this is why the doctors protest. All mentioned that they claim theyll lose money and prestige. Imo protesting about raising applicants numbers should have been hand in hand with them calling out that this is a shit solution unless the government also looks at those specialties that struggle on working conditions etc. Then the doctors have a good starting point to sit at the table together and discuss solutions as well as have public opinion on their side.
However from all the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this articles I’ve seen none actually state that this is why the doctors protest. All mentioned that they claim theyll lose money and prestige. And of course it’s not like the media ever gaslights the public, misrepresents things, or pushes a different agenda, of course. Docs actually have been calling them out on why it’s a bs solution for a long time. Many years before they started this protest. Why we don’t hear these real stories from doctors is related to how the government plays their game. They often pick a certain group and beat the shit out of them. To be popular while doing that, they gotta make that group look like a shit group to public. In the US, it’s often immigrants from Mexico, or Asian immigrants in high paying industry. In Korea, it’s doctors. Korean media is basically government’s slave. Media is helping the government by writing those bs stories about doctors prestige going down, income going down, etc. The effort to make doctors look like shit group has been ongoing for quite a while. The prev govt did the same thing, so I don’t know how easy it is for doctors to get support from the public at this point.
Idk if you speak Korean but there are lots of Korean docs on youtube explaining why they’re upset. They’ve actually been saying the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this same stuff for years, cause the previous govt was also trying to increase the med school quota instead of really fixing the real problem, but I’m sure no media will write about it. Appreciate the context shared here. What have the doctors proposed instead? Increase cap on treatment cost? On the face of it it seems like the gov is trying to keep costs low by increasing supply. I can see why this hurts existing businesses tho. Protections against lawsuits too. It’s disgusting that a patient could win a broken rib lawsuit from CPR and that the government would agree. Everyone in that court should be fired for having the IQ of a rock. If you don’t want capitalism in your healthcare(leaving that to Samsung elsewhere) then you need to practice socialism both ways. Doctors need to be protected from frivolous law suits and to receive adequate compensation from the government that reflects the training and effort used to get to an attending level.
I see. Both teachers and doctors (and probably other public professions) seem to have lots of issues around being sued. What happens to teachers is disgusting. It seems extreme levels of toxic what goes on. It must be more than IQ Well that’s how you turn Korean healthcare into American health care. It sucks certain doctors don’t get paid well but this helps keep the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this health care costs down. They should strike about the prices and lawsuits, not about increasing college admissions, which have been kept artificially low for decades. You can twist the story however you want, when you strike specifically against more college admissions, your true face is bare for everyone to see. Good find. Now let’s factor in the working hours, the number of patients they have to see, and the average number of lawsuit these specialties deal with, and overall working condition.
Pediatricians make about $12-13 per patient. This price was set by the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this government 30 years ago and has not changed ever since, so when a pediatrician makes 90k, think about how many patients they’ll have to see. Sure, they still put food on the table for their family, but when they have to work insane hours and get sued left and right for every stupid reason, 90k (it’s actually 81k to be accurate) surely wouldn’t feel like a lot of money, even in Korea. Just an FYI, the average is 81k thanks to hospital employed pediatricians. Private clinic pediatricians hardly make $81k. Btw, in the US, derm is one of the highest paying specialties, but in Korea, it is not, so claiming these doctors make similar amount to dermatologists doesn’t mean these doctors make a lot. You’re 19. You have plenty of time to build things. It’s easier to take time out now before you have responsibilities. Go. Have fun! Don’t expect to come back with answers, if you’re lucky you’ll come back with a whole lot of new questions. i think it’s just as likely you dont learn/grow at all as it is that you grow into a higher version of yourself. anything will help you “find yrself” even living a stereotypical 9-5 city life has a lot to teach. life is what you make it homes I think that we all grow from experiences. And that helps shape who we are. Traveling solo will build your confidence. It won’t necessarily “fix” anything, because anywhere you go, there you are. But it has definitely helped me feel more secure I’m who I am. Explore while you can!! It wasn’t necessarily traveling, but when I graduated college at 22 I was an extremely introverted and shy person with a small friend group who just generally wasn’t prepared for interaction in “the real world” (at 16 I lost my best friend to Leukemia, which was the first death I had ever experienced and led me to push a lot of people away because I didn’t want to feel that way again). Even then, I was a much different person at 22 than I was at 19.
I ended up moving abroad to teach in Korea for a year, which turned into 4, and that experience helped me break out of my shell quite a bit (funny enough, I think raiding on WoW did too). I’m in my mid 30s now and have traveled quite a bit (not as much as I’d like, but at 4 continents and 13 countries certainly more than the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this average American). I think if you go into travel with the attitude of wanting to change, then it can absolutely be a benefit for you, but (knowing what I know now) so can going out in your local town on a Friday night or doing something locally that pushes you out of your comfort zone. I think this scene in “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty” ultimately sums up how I feel about traveling as a whole.
Personally, I’m not spiritual or religious, so I can’t really speak to how solo travel might work for someone who is looking for that. I can say though that when I travel to a place and truly solo travel in the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this sense that I’m not even going out to eat with people at the hostel, I’m not having life altering epiphanies, I’m just having fun with street photography and finding cool spots and delicious restaurants to recommend to people in the future. It’s expected that through seeing the world, seeing how other people survive and live, put under pressure and having to adapt, you will come out the other end as a better human being, but it’s up to you in the end. I think it depends on how your brain works! I went to school for a year and had no idea what I wanted, wasted a few years just fucking around. Traveled for 4 months around the world, and now I am on a 1 year trip worldwide and going to school for international business to move overseas when I get back. Having not been for that first trip, I would not have discovered what I love most, and I wouldn’t have found out where in the world I am meant to be. When I was 19, I left home to go on a two-year Mormon mission to Japan. I had to learn the language and adapt to a culture very alien to my own.
I’m not suggesting you convert to Mormonism, lol, but leaving my homeland to live a dirt poor life as a minority in a foreign land was life changing for me. If you decide to go abroad, consider a life of service. Obsessing over your ‘identity’ will only add to your confusion. I didn’t “find myself” when I backpacked solo and went abroad for the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this first time at age 23. I developed myself, experienced paradigm shifts in my beliefs, and FACED myself. My only regret is going home afterward and chasing a big girl job because I thought I needed to be serious about my life. Looking back, I would have done well by bucking societal norms to continue traveling, finding work along the way and developing life skillsets that come with a variety of jobs in different settings. You will build something by traveling and learning, it’s just impossible to predict what that will be. Easier to look back in hindsight and connect the dots.
As an introvert, I wouldn’t rule out meeting people on your solo trip. The bonds I developed with fellow travelers are indelible, and some of my most cherished memories in all of my travels are shared experiences with folks I still check in on. One of those is a quiet afternoon on an Italian beach. Fellow introverts find each other! But it’s also worth occasionally hanging with a group or an extroverted travel pal. It can feel uncomfortable to push your own boundaries but this is where growth happens, and it’s so often with human connection. I know how you feel, I felt the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this same at 18. It will pass, this is perfectly normal. There are a couple of steps I took to change things, for if you want things to change, only you can change them.
I am from a small town on the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this south coast and felt trapped, no horizon, no opportunities, and nothing I could do. I started looking for jobs that would enable me to travel, and after looking at cruise ships or teaching, I ended up on a casino training school. Most towns have one if they have a casino. I also considered hairdressing on a cruise ship but was lousy at cutting hair and gave up after a fortnight of sweeping floors. 18 months later, I moved to Greece for two years and had the time of my life working in the largest Casino in Europe, it also brought me out of my shell a little. A few years later I used the money I had saved to get a TEFL certificate and moved to South Korea, Thailand and China, spending a decade getting paid to have a great experience in foreign cultures. It enriched my life immensely, enabled me to become fluent in three languages and you will make friends for life that even a decade after returning to the UK, will still be like family to you.
I look back to how helpless I felt at 18, just a tiny step led to a change that when I look back. I am so glad I made. You, and anyone else can make that step, your feet are not fixed in place. There is a world waiting for you out there and at least half of the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this people on my travels that I met, took that step on their own and many of them felt the exact same way you do. I’m an extremely extroverted person, so for me traveling pretty much consists of interacting with tons of people and the adventures that result from that. I don’t think my type of traveling has yielded much significant meaning. I guess aside from the individual encounters I’ve had with people, but that’s honestly not too significant in an existential sense.
One of my dreams is to make a pilgrimage to Mount Athos. It’s an autonomous mountain peninsula in Greece that has nothing but wilderness and Orthodox Christian monasteries. There are no other inhabitants besides thousands of monks living in group monasteries or hermitages scattered around the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this peninsula. All they do is work and pray constantly. I think there’s meaning and guidance to be found in a place like that. I would do it now and as much as can in your 20’s. But also advise to handle stuff with mental health before just setting off and traveling too. I don’t think you will find yourself at 19. That’s all of your 20’s are for. Even 30’s too. If you want life experience and to learn more about yourself/the world, go travel.
Try checking out some work trades that interest you on like workaway or wwoof. Go somewhere you want to visit and live with their communities and see what life is like in different parts of the I Hate People But I Love My Louisville Cardinals Grinch Merry Christmas Shirt In addition,I will do this world. You will gain a lot of perspective in life and can use that perspective to be introspective about your own life. Give yourself time and really consider the things you like and dislike about your life and where you live and where you travel. Start to follow a path in life that aligns more with your values and the things you like If you go by yourself, you won’t be able to share all the fun you’ve going to have!. Who are you going to tell when you get home?. You’re not going to find yourself, by yourself!.
