If I run into a teen who used to menstruate but no longer does this is important to know and will alert us to the need for further assessment. Yeah everyone wants to make this about Utah when I’m pretty sure every state requires a physical for high school sports and these are standard questions for a female physical. But of course, people would rather just rage. My anatomy teacher in high school was also the sports medicine specialist and gave us this exact reasoning. If an athlete has irregular and/or heavy periods (since the blood lost during a menstrual cycle can be quite a large amount) it would cause more risk for the athlete to be cleared to compete! When you think about it for about 5 seconds longer than “tHeY’Re TrYiNg To CoNtRoL mE” it makes way more sense. Your comment should be at the top, but alas, this is Reddit so we all know that’s not happening. EDIT: As an athlete who has competed in the state of Utah, this form is one of the forms that you bring to the doctors for your physical. The only thing that UHSAA (Utah High School Activities Association) uses that form for is putting it in your file. Your doctor is the one that clears you to participate – not UHSAA. If the doctor doesn’t clear you UHSAA just puts it in their file for you saying that you are not allowed to participate.

How is a conservative more progressive than the current progressive governor? That’s sadly a huge issue in Utah, mostly bc of the LDS/ Mormon church.
