Hostels aren’t only for young people (unless there’s age rules in place), they’re also for people that can’t afford to blow hundreds on hotel rooms. It’s not weird, and 35 isn’t that old. At this point when I travel I want my own space, quiet, and most importantly, I have no desire to make friends abroad. I can see the appeal but I travel solo for solitude as much as anything else. If you want a more social experience I’m sure you’ll have a great time in a hostel, so many people in our age bracket stay in hostels and love the experience I’m 37 and I stay at hostels (my only experience is in Europe). I live alone since I was 25, I like my sleep and the comfort of my home and I don’t like traveling so much. I do it anyway. I stay at mixed 4 beds rooms in nice hostels, not cheap ones: it’s cheaper than solo rooms but not overy crowded, staff makes sure at least 2 women are there based on my experience so on the one hand- it feels safe, on the other hand- women don’t get as messy and filthy next to men as they usually would so the room stays nice. I don’t have any sleeping issues but my overall experience was of mostly thoughtful people. Some hostels don’t allow old people like me to stay in but it usually says on their website, you can always contact them and ask. I look younger than I am so never had issues at reception.

I usually stuff my purses with tissue paper to help them keep their shape. You can also try using purse organizers or hanging them on hooks to save space. This! Hanging is a second choice, but it stretches the straps, strains the fixings and may not protect from dust and UV.
