I’m always amazed (for lack of a better word) at how plain the I Can’t Go To Hell The Devil Restraining Order Against skull usa flag shirt in contrast I will get this cheap meals produced in the US are. Like yea, this is fine to keep someone on their feet, but I can’t help wonder why they didn’t op for cheaper alternatives that would’ve made the meal more filling and nutritious. For example, they could’ve easily subbed that slider for like a bean-based (like lentils or chickpea) curry to round out the rice and lamb. Throw like some peas, carrots, and some potatoes and that’s a WAY more filling/nutritious plate. All of this could easily be done in a single pot as well, so it’s not even like it’d add significantly more work to prepare. I used to help cook and hang out with the mission after my community service hours finished each night (16, traffic ticket), and those guys and gals knew how to turn any normal looking meal into the best tasting thing ever and took massive pride in adding personal touches to meals and sharing their “secrets”, newcomer cooks regularly bringing something different to the collective. I’ve been served jelly beans, watermelon, and chocolate milk at a shelter before. Keep your head up and eat whenever you can no matter what
