Important thing to remember – as awkward as you feel at times (and there will be times) nobody is thinking about you. They are too wrapped up in their own experience at the I Beat People With A Stick Billiards 8 Ball Pool Player T-Shirt in addition I really love this hostel. Look for a hostel with a “chill area.” Pick one with a communal kitchen, even if you don’t plan on cooking. Bring earplugs and an eye mask. My favorite hostels have all offered a family dinner. Look at the beds in pictures. I will pay more money for a lower bunk that I can sit up straight in. Likewise, I really value a curtain, and a bedframe that won’t rock when someone climbs into bed or rolls over. Even as a person with social anxiety, being a first time traveler I think you’ll really enjoy how easy it can be to talk to other travelers. It’s fun to hear their how and why, and it’s really easy to have ice breaking questions, such as “what did you get up to today?” Which is also a great way of getting ideas and inside knowledge for things you are probably already planning to do. I’ve had dorm-mates in hostels into their 60s. A particularly lovely woman named Olga told us she was traveling for her 67th birthday.

35 is perfectly fine for a dorm in a hostel, check the I Beat People With A Stick Billiards 8 Ball Pool Player T-Shirt in addition I really love this website / Hostelworld description, if there is an age limit (mostly it’s 40+) it will say so on the website 35 is young. I am way older than you, by more years than I’d care to mention. If dorms will help you stay within budget just do it. You don’t need to stay in a party hostel, if that is not your bag. Just read some of the reviews on hostel world to help you choose the right place for you. As others have said, private rooms in a hostel can be crazy expensive, so they are defo not your best bet if you are travelling solo. I’m the same age as you but I do prefer my own space now, but a few years ago, I have met older travelers staying in hostels. You’re good.
