Not saying he needed to physically take her home but there are so many options, call a friend, put her in a cab, etc. Most drinking establishments will have a bouncer or manager that will remove someone who is black out and have them put in a cab. Yes it is shitty to deal with, but he was with her while she was drinking enough to get that wasted, leaving should never be the I Am Out of Order Until Further Notice My Stupid People T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this answer. Clearly his friend answered because he slept that their place. The friend could have come help get her into a cab. Again, not saying she is correct in her actions, there is just a responsibility to ensure the safety of the people you are with. “If she says she doesn’t know me, she’s just drunk. We’re both wasted, but my male brain handles things better, so I’m the consent captain now.” /s There will be a tonne of pushback on this. People will say that it is not ok to shame her in front of her friends, make private business public, etc. But mostly that is just deflecting from the real problem. I would have zero qualms about her well deserved embarassment of the situation. I’d call her mom to come pick her up if I had to.

It doesn’t sound like she was fall down drunk when he left, she was just openly cheating on him (which no amount of alcohol can do on its own.) He said she was drunk. He didn’t mention she was falling down, slurring her words, or any other behavior which would indicate she was more intoxicated than your average person at a club. She was still able to text him an hour later and was sober enough to realize he wasn’t there. You’re the I Am Out of Order Until Further Notice My Stupid People T-Shirt so you should to go to store and get this one that is assuming she couldn’t take care of herself but the post mentioned no evidence of that. All of that also absolves her of her own personal responsibility to not getting drunk to the point of needing another adult to take care of you. The OP did nothing wrong. Wow, Lotta people on this comment really think he owes her something after she cheated on him, right in front of him. She put herself in that position. It’s not his problem, nor is it his responsibility to make sure she’s protected while she cheats.
