No business can claim they made the donation. Tax fraud is a felony I didn’t mention anything about taxes, did I? I was saying something about these companies advertising how much they collected in their marketing campaigns. When you said they claim they donated this much, I thought you meant on their taxes. I stand corrected. You are right there though, they get the publicity for donating other people’s money I don’t like donating on the fly. I like to research the charity first. I want to make sure it’s actually reaching those in need. Not the b.s of 5 cents goes to the actual person and the other 95 cents goes to the company. Charity is important but you have to be careful. It’s still a business and people are greedy. I prefer to find charites online and donate to them directly. How about they turn it around and say “today we are rounding down as charity to our customers”. We are suffering more than the corporations.

It is none of their business why you declined. You may have already donated or the money has been earmarked for other charities.
