That’s bonkers the bank said “we can’t talk to you, you’re in trouble.l” then NOTHING. They weren’t even going to prosecute. He had to go to three newspapers and a TV segment before. The prosecutor and judge didn’t even understands how he did it. (P.S. For those of you who think criminals are fucked for life, Mr. Abagnale is doing quite nicely today as a consultant specializing in banking and financial security issues . . . and on another note, the Cornell graduate student who wrote and distributed the first computer worm and was convicted of felony charges . . . is today a tenured professor at MIT.) I would have got a job at the bank where I could eventually learn enough about the systems and people to determine whether they would or wouldn’t likely ever figure anything out. And only at that point make a choice on whether to give it up. This dude folded his cards without realizing the bank was never gonna call him on anything. Apparently they hardly could figure out what he had done in the court case itself after having it explained to them.

I used to have NAB account that was like that I didn’t go nuts for 4&1/2 months that cost 1.6mil I spent about $4500-$5000 on nightclubs, i rented a cabin down the I Am Going To Punch You In The Mouth With My Own Softly Because Like You T-Shirt but in fact I love this surfcoast for a week, a shitload of alcohol, MDMA and nose beers and some flashy clothes… goodtimes ?!!!!. Even though in the back of my mind I knew it would catch up with me eventually it took about 2&1/2yrs for them to send me a bill for the first 6months I was dreading what might come of it all so I changed banks and cut the card up and after 8-9months I was starting to think I’ve gotten away with this for 2yrs I was thinking awesome noone seems to miss that 5grand I should’ve held on to the card and gone nuts spending up big, Then out of nowhere I get a letter from the collection mob the NAB uses they weren’t interested in having me charged they just wanted the money back, I ended up having to pay just under 6grand back and getting any credit or loans from anywhere wasn’t happening for about 8 years but eventually I built up my credit rating and now everythings normal, and even though this happened in about 1998-99. Im still paranoid applying for loans or credit even phone plans only cos I truly believe u get nothing for free in life, and even though I paid it and more back, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it somehow bites me on the ass at some stage
