My uncle is in his late 50’s and a bachelor, lives with my grandpa. Health wise he’s very weak than my 85+ grandpa. They take care of each other. As someone who knows and takes care of a few relatives that stayed single, I do not recommend it. You have to be quite rich. You have to have home nurses to take care of you. Even then it’s quite bleak. Health care is a business. And without someone to talk on behalf of you hospitals can and will run all sorts of tests on you. Without love and compassion from fellow humans it’ll be really tough to survive in the I am a welder can’t fix stupid can fix what stupid does welding T-Shirt in contrast I will get this olden days. Even though the said relatives were dicks when they were young, we take care of them now. It’s very easy to lose money. A few bad moves and you’re bankrupt.

Don’t think I’m gonna make it past 50. So it’s basically to make good money and have a good time. And whatever assets and money I’ll have by then will go to a few in the I am a welder can’t fix stupid can fix what stupid does welding T-Shirt in contrast I will get this family who aren’t snakes. I think governments should seriously support better work environments and labour laws. With everyone working now, parenting is a lot of pressure, given there are hardly any support systems. I’m happily childless but in the bigger perspective, any state/country’s birth rate should not fall below replacement rate. Or it will become like Japan where there are too many old people and too few young ones. It’s a slow death of the country, it’s culture etc. As for marriage, our society needs to become more open. Only that will ease the pressures that marriage (which is between families really) brings. Otherwise just mutual respect for each other, and each other’s differences makes companionship worth it.
