I’ve been skinny my whole life thanks to good genes and an active lifestyle, I’ve also been “fat” for many months of my life, loafing on the couch after getting work, not taking the dog on good walks, eating like a slop (chips, soda and such). For successful people, healthy tendencies are second nature no different than breathing, they couldn’t imagine living their lives like lazy sloths like many of us do, I’m talking about truly successful people, not the ones who have inherited a bunch of money and than develop lazy tendencies which will get passed down to their children.

This is purely speculation, but if you compare the price of one apple to the price of an entire bag of chips, they’re about the same and poor people who have large families are going to go for quantity over quality when it comes to food because they have to. When you can afford fruits and vegetables and lean, healthy meats, I suppose it would reduce the odds of you being overweight plus you probably get a lot more activity being wealthy because you can afford to play sports and have dance lessons and all that other stuff that kids do They eat better in their better educated and they value education. The kids get a very big head start or nutrition, general health and a step up in education and career orientation. Money brings a lot of choices and good effect if you do it right.
