I legit said this same line to a African American vp of internal audit. She was(is) an extremely laid back boss and we had a good relationship and it was a work related conversation when she asked some kind of question where the Husband Dad Truck Legend Truck Driver Trucker Dad Retro T-Shirt and I will buy this answer in the affirmative would make for a stronger audit comment. The air was literally sucked out of the room as the last syllable crossed my lips. Neither one of us could believe it. Still to this day I cannot believe I wasn’t fired on the spot. Yeeeeah. My husband (44) was telling me (56) about this story and says, “she said ‘fo shizzle my n.'” I blankly stared at him as I processed for the first time in my life what that actually was slang for. I’m so fucking sheltered I honestly still didn’t know what you were even saying while you wrote this until I really really thought about it. I kept thinking the meteorologist was saying the n-word, not the n-word that rhymes with shizzle, apparently. Honestly as a 8 year old when I was listening to snoop dogg I don’t think I could have even contemplated that was a slur he was dropping there.

I’ve gotta say tbh I think this is overblown and will probably just give conservatives a reason to believe all words that start with “n” are dangerous. Snoop Dogg is replacing everything after the Husband Dad Truck Legend Truck Driver Trucker Dad Retro T-Shirt and I will buy this first sound with “izzle.” Fo shizzle my nizzle = for sure, my n-word. I don’t think it is slur in Snoop context. I take it as meaning “Absolutely, buddy.” But that brings me right back to it being okay for black people to say, but not okay for me to say. In my head it 100% was just a nonsense word to rhyme with shizzle. Never thought about it until this. I completely understand how absurd that is. Same here. Heard it for the first time in middle school and always thought it was jibberish until seeing this some 15-20 years later. SAME, I just learned in this thread. Whoops. Fortunately, I think the closest I’ve ever come to quoting this is the joke ‘why does Snoop Dogg carry an umbrella?’ fo drizzle I’m black so it was obvious to me lol I couldn’t fathom somebody hearing the phrase & not knowing what he was saying ? I guess to someone who doesn’t hear a lot of black people talking they may not connect the dots? I like how there’s people who are now realizing what the phrase meant & then me surprised people really ain’t know what it meant all these years Not everyone gets into lyrics like that either and around that time Snoop produced a lot of club and radio music which as OutKast pointed out doesn’t always get listened to that closely.
