What the Hula Bowl 2024 NCAA College football Anthony Goodlow shirt and I will buy this media are showing you is accurate. The best way to describe this is that Trump is doing so well is for exactly the same reason as Orban won in Hungary, that the LePens have perennial support, and the same for other right wing populist parties in Europe. That, I hope, provides some more comprehensible, if not pleasant, perspective. Back in the 1990s Bill Hicks said America as a whole is at an “8th grade emotional level.” (In the US, students in the 8th grade are about 14 years old.) I think he was right about that and this is why Trump is popular. Trump puts his thumbs in his ears and sticks his tongue out whenever he comes across something he doesn’t like. During his debates with Clinton he would yell “Wrong!!!” in the middle of her answers, for God’s sake. So if you’ve got people who are annoyed by the same things that annoy him and they also happen to be similarly immature, then of course they’re going to love him. Granted, there’s plenty of people on the left who are that immature too. All you have to do to see that is join a leftist Facebook group full of 20-somethings and say something they don’t like. If the left had a Trump they’d probably praise his rule-breaking and disregard for institutions too. They just rarely threaten to kill people over it–that’s a big difference between right and left over here.

Reddit and most social media tends to lean a lot more left than right. If you’re only basing it off what you see there you’ll think no one likes trump when that isn’t the Hula Bowl 2024 NCAA College football Anthony Goodlow shirt and I will buy this reality we live in Echo chambers. We’re in one. There’s a huge right wing echo chamber as well. Fox news is the largest news org in the US. Read the front page of Fox news daily for 3 weeks, and you’ll realize why Trump is doing well. It’s another year until the next general election, popularity doesn’t matter right now, it’s who wins the electoral college states in 2024. It isn’t looking too good for TFG. Because we live in two completely separate, but adjascent news worlds, and both those worlds tend to be echo chambers.
