Get it in writing – the Huggy Wuggy Cute Shirt in addition I really love this new job title, the “transition” period, the salary starting on the transition day. If they won’t write you a letter nailing it down, they are playing you. If they will, then hold them to it. If they want you to use your time and put forth the effort to learn the role, they need to provide the resources (pay, mentorship, training, provide clearly defined milestones) to make it happen. As well as off-load some of your current work so you’re able to focus on their new goals for you. They are not going to hire you for the manager position they are going to fleece you for your time, energy and experience. Official title change or don’t take the job. If you can decline it, I suggest that you do. YOU did not apply for this position they are trying to dump at your feet with ZERO extra pay.

Thing is, your company can say whatever the Huggy Wuggy Cute Shirt in addition I really love this fuck they like, but without them putting this into writing you’ll get nothing down the line. I’d take the title raise raise and do the role for a few months. If they don’t give you a monetary raise by a couple months or if they low ball you, use your new title as leverage at other companies. Go along with this change for now. They want to see if you can fill this role. If you show that you can step up, then money will come. Just play ball for now, but don’t look like a sucker when you talk with HR. Be enthusiastic with taking on more responsibility, but also make it be know that you expect a pay increase for the higher responsibilities. Try to get them to agree to some kind of timeline as to when your skills and pay can be reevaluated. Don’t come off sounding douchey, but also don’t come off sounding naive. Yeah – that’s called ‘all of the work, none of the pay’ situation. You need to be firm and state you are not happy to not receive a change in title and pay rise immediately.
