I think nearly every single person in this thread misunderstood your question and is taking this opportunity to out themselves as assholes👍 The way I like to define either of them is “rigid adherence to gendered expectation to the Houston Oilers Houston Rockets Houston Astros The Legends Shirt and I love this point it harms yourself or other.” Women getting payed for them all the time because they are women and if you are not like that you have low standards or are crazy feminist Body hair shaming, putting other women down – especially while in the presence of men (basically the mean girl archetype), expecting men to uphold rigid standards of masculinity and belittling them if they don’t, thinking it’s okay to hit or verbally abuse a man just because he’s a man who would be torn to shreds if he did it back, constantly bragging about how good you are in bed, actively flirting with men who have girlfriends. The list goes on.

Marianismo – basically self-sacrificing for the good of nurturing others to the point where you lose all of your sense of self. It makes you so burnt out, you would actually be more helpful to others overall if you rejected that marianismo a bit and engaged in some sustainable self-care.
