Well it really showed how HoT storyline was reduced by 2 or 3 chapters at least – no story about Malyck and most importantly the Hotdog It’s Not 4th of July Until My Wiener Comes Out T-Shirt in other words I will buy this fate of the Nightmare Court, which still to this day weren’t even mentioned. At least she appeared during the Fashion Wars contest, after like almost 8 years she came out of woodwork xDI don’t get why the sylvari and nightmare court story parts were cut instead of basically any other areas. A skrit hunting down a golden ooze is fun but overall not important compared to the general story of HoT. Why not cut these things if resources are scare?I’m still not even sure what the Nightmare Court’s whole deal is, and I’ve played since beta. All I know is they had a bad dream, but not what that dream was or what it really meant.

The game really doesn’t explain things like this very well. Like it throws Destiny’s Edge at you in the Hotdog It’s Not 4th of July Until My Wiener Comes Out T-Shirt in other words I will buy this first campaign and seemingly expects you to already know who they are, what they did, and why they hate each other. There is a novel called Destiny’s Edge which explains it. And even if you didn’t read it , it’s implied that you will do the dungeons which explain their story to you. Your race specific member of DE would have already mentioned them by the point of you reaching lvl 30 and doing all your story quests. As far as the Nightmare Court goes, they are simply a faction of Sylvari who rejected the teachings of Ventari and believe that the Dream is a way for the Pale Tree to influence Sylvari and bind them to its will. The Nightmare, being the opposite of the Dream, might be Mordremoths attempt to influence their minds – but it is unclear precisely how and what happened with the Court after Mordremoth died.Faolain briefly mentions in passing “You know nothing about the Nightmare Court. Mordremoths yoke is even more oppressive than the Pale Trees.” They wanted freedom from the very beginning so it makes sense they would fight Mordremoth. The dragon wants slaves, not allies.I did play the dungeons, and they really didn’t explain much. Yes you learn during the campaign who the individuals are, but not really anything about their time together or what exactly happened. Only vague hints like Rytlock saying Logan ditched them, and apparently Snaff died but it doesn’t tell you much about Snaff.
