You made the Hocus Pocus I Need Coffee To Focus Hat Witch Halloween T-Shirt Also,I will get this right call. They’re not going to behave any better after you’re on board. Keep going on your search – if you got this offer you can get another! What positions are y’all applying to where the hiring manager isn’t the direct manager? I’m a hiring manager because I hire for my own team (and they all report to me). I am also in tech and is the same. The hiring manager is the one that actually hires you and you’d report directly to him. 5 mins before interview got reschaduled. 1 week later they tell me they have another role in mind for me. Ha ha 1 month no sound. 1 month later second interview and this time “yes we no longer consider u for initial role I applied” now we consider you for new one. Long weekend happens. I realize this ain’t right. They not willing to add it in offer so, they can push me around and I will have no choice. I had a similarly weird situation. I actually signed the offer letter, but the on-boarding day was two months out, so I never gave notice. The move the on-boarding day back and fourth, and never send the paperwork. With only a WEEK before the start day, I get the paperwork and the job description does not match what I have on my offer. I emailed that I was withdrawing and blocked all the contacts in my phone. Why do people have to be shit? I know that some people are shit, but I’m always going to be amazed that some people can be marginally successful and also shit.

The trend I see mostly is a first interview with your immediate boss, then a second interview with ur boss’s boss. I’m in tech, the Hocus Pocus I Need Coffee To Focus Hat Witch Halloween T-Shirt Also,I will get this hiring manager is the head of HR. The team supervisor is part of the interview, but they aren’t the one who puts together an offer package or do salary negotiation. Once hired I only hear from them when it is related to staffing changes emails or benefits changes. Interesting to see how other companies handle this. Candidates are assigned a “talent rep” but all offers and salary negotiations are handled by the manager who is hiring where I work and then presented to the candidate by their talent rep. I enjoy it because it really gives me autonomy to hire/offer without getting it approved by the entire HR department. As long as I’m within my salary budget, I can do as I see fit.
