Yes, because the Hockey dad men’s for fathers day shirt and I love this thing that would be dividing the country would be keeping the status quo? How does that even make any sense? This is just plain crazy to think about considering 70% of Americans want Roe vs Wade to stay unchanged … overturning it will make the country significantly more divided than it is today. The only reason he hasn’t switched parties is that as a Democrat he gets to be the deciding vote on all kinds of things. As a Republican he’d be just another face in the crowd. 2 trillion in a party line Covid relief vote in Feb 2021 and an army of judges + Joe Biden’s cabinet appointments. With more judges to come. In a world without Manchin, over half of the federal agencies don’t have Senate confirmed heads, and the other half are run by center right people that Susan Collins or Mit Romney finds okay Also, if Mitch was in charge, there’d be no additional 500 bill in bipartisan infrastructure. Instead, there’d be weekly public congressional witch hunt investigations into Hunter Biden. We all know how much Manchin sucks, but having him vote with Dems even 10% of the time is more than we’d get out of an actual Republican senator in his place. And that would also make McConnell officially the majority leader again. As everyone has pointed out, the best counter to Manchin is to vote more Dem senators in so that he’s not the deciding vote on anything. Note how Republicans had 54 and then 52 Senators during Trump’s term, which they used to allow Murkowski and Collins to take strategic dissenting votes without actually affecting anything.

Honestly? Judicial appointments and the Hockey dad men’s for fathers day shirt and I love this like. He’s voted to approve virtually all of Bidens nominees. Other than that he’s a DINO. There is no language in the bill that would protect medical providers who object to abortion for moral or religious reasons aren’t obligated to provide them. Additionally if you’re doctor isn’t going to sign off on the procedure that’s not the same as forcing them to do it. At that point you go to a different doctor/clinic where they’ll help you. And what about the opposite end with Jewish faiths actually using abortion because of their religion to protect the living women? This is just a flimsy excuse from them because the 60 votes aren’t there and they’re pretending to be moderates. So them voting yes wouldn’t matter either not even for brownie points. Roe did allow for doctors to refuse to perform abortions, yes. Or more specifically, doctors have always been allowed to refuse treatment that violates their personal beliefs, and Roe did nothing to change that. This bill wouldn’t either, and those claiming it would are lying. If you’re a doctor that’s making care decisions based on “religious and moral” reasoning instead of what is medically best for your patient I feel like that’s a pretty big indicator that you should not be in the fucking medical field to begin with anyway. Of course he will. They just having this vote for the record. People like Susan Collins can have her chance to vote to fix things since she was so outraged by the justices decision.
