I thought it was a good movie when it was in the Hey look It’s ground beef T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this past. If it had just gotten rid of the “present” timeline I think it would have been well received. I find these comments always funny, as if there will ever be another person who perfectly alligns with your taste 😀 Also, the only reviewers worth following imo are ones who occasionally praise an otherwise critically panned movie and vise versa. Not for the sake of it and to be contrarian of course, but just being able to form a well thought out opinion independent of the consensus. Yeah i can agree with that, someone who really has a strong own understanding of storytelling and cinema, someone who can add to the conversation. He gave it a 6/10 which is a good score. Many reviewers don’t apply score values like school but instead use 5 as the mid score, and everything above or below it is in varying degrees of quality. I much prefer this to people who only rate good movies as 8 or higher, because what’s even the point of having a ten-point scale system if you can only divide good movies into three brackets? Ya, I like to use 5 as the middle score, I never got using 7/8 as the average, because when you do that like half the scale isn’t even ever used. And it makes it hard to differentiate between the actually good movies because they all have to have similar scores. Marvel movies used to be like Tony Stark fighting terrorists to Captain America dealing with multinational threats to everyone fighting Thanos to save the universe. Now, the stakes and power scaling have been raised to a level that affects the entire multiverse. Sooner or later they’re going to have to hit a power ceiling or pull a Dragonball z

Shang Chi would’ve been way better if the Hey look It’s ground beef T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this plot revolved around stopping Wenwu from killing everyone in the village. The world ending dragon was so unessessary and lame. Yeah, the martial arts in that film were great. They should have left it as a martial arts film. I really wish they would let people run with things rather than forcing the standard template on the movies. Yeah, I feel the pitch meeting sketch for Shang Chi was spot on. The pitch is how this is a “very different” Marvel movie- it’s small, it’s martial arts, etc- and then they get to the end and the “producer” is just like “oh, there it is.” A film with a massive budget that is all about raising the stakes even more beyond “the universe is in danger”.
