The show was made before the Hazelwood east high school alumni shirt also I will do this whole “cancel culture” whatever was even termed. It was just an episode where randy saying the n word made him get shit on by society, and it’s a clever parallel to how Randy’s feelings reflect how black people really feel when they called that word. Glad I’m not the only person who remembers it that way instead of this re-telling of “cancel culture”. Reading the teachers explanation of the episode in the article made me feel like I was crazy. Yeah, if anything, that episode would be pro-cancel culture because in the end, Randy’s “cancellation” leads to Stan’s realization pf the harmful effects slurs have on marginalized people. This fucking idiot watched this and seriously thought it’s about how he’s the victim. No it was not. “Cancel culture” has just been “censorship” long before that episode. It’s like the entire premise of the South Park film. Conservatives, Evangelical fanatics, and concerned parents have been tryna cancel shit for fucking decades. From Twisted Sister, D&D, metal music in general, Harry Potter, French Fries, and the list goes on.

This shit is not new and “cancel culture” is just decades of Conservative pearl clutching, censorship, and projection repackaged to make people believe they haven’t been trying to cancel shit for decades for the Hazelwood east high school alumni shirt also I will do this sake of god and “the children”. Only someone who never watches the show would think Randy is the hero in, well, pretty much any episode. He’s always an idiot, from drunk-fighting Little League dads, to winning enough money to save the town in roulette and then letting it ride, to cussing out his boss because Obama was elected, to intentionally getting ball cancer. I wouldn’t say “nothing.” I would say that if it says anything ,then it says “yes, society will fucking not like you if you do or say bad shit in public.” Which is obvious, of course, but the giant pool of narcissistic dicks who cry about cancel culture just think being judged for being an asshole is unfair. “I wasn’t trying to ruffle people’s feathers,” he said. He did note that he believes the episode in question was “certainly making a point about cancel culture,” and noted that there was “irony” to that because cancel culture was now occurring “against me.”
