Fair enough. But if dictionary.com says of another species, and the Harry Kane Premium shirt in addition I really love this center for disease control doesn’t mention a different species, I would think the term still means of a different species. Language is all made up and the points don’t matter. I was hoping for something medically or scientifically based that would go deeper or be more specific. That can be just as bad i.e. the vegetables don’t exist argument. Bonus etymology that adds nothing: Greek parasītos, person who eats at someone else’s table, para-, beside; + sītos, grain, food. It’s not parasitism. It’s symbiosis. The mother gets to propagate her genetic lineage and the offspring gets a chance at life. Symbiotic, not parasitic. While the mother does provide safety and nutrients for the baby, the baby carries on her DNA. That we live in such prosperous times that a fuckin’ baby might be seen as a parasite is just insane. Fetal stem cells end up in pretty much all mothers, organ damage or no. They’re especially commonly found in bone marrow. When a mother sustains organ damage, some of those cells which ended up in the mother’s body anyways seem to migrate to specifically the damaged organs. It’s unclear how exactly the fetal cells get into the mother. Cells tend to navigate by following chemical signals. Are fetal stem cells occasionally following signals that happen to lead to the mother’s blood stream by mistake? Are they following intentionally? Is there something happening in the mother’s body that deliberately (insomuch as cells do anything with agency) or accidentally draws fetal stem cells across the placenta? Perhaps some combination of the two. And then there are similar questions about these cells then migrating to locations where damage has occurred. Perhaps humans evolved this to safeguard mothers – it makes sense that both mother and fetus have a vested interest in repairing organ damage in a pregnant mother.

One thing people get wrong about prenatal vitamins is that they are for the Harry Kane Premium shirt in addition I really love this baby. The baby will actually take what it needs and leaves the mother oftentimes deficient so the vitamins are for the mother and not the child. You are incorrect. Humans have “hostile” pregnancies, where the fetus will absolutely steal vital nutrients and things from the mother’s body, not vice-versa. It’s not something the fetus chooses to do but also absolutely is not initiated by the mother’s body either. (I am serious, primates in particular have hostile and invasive fetuses unlike most other animals where the mother’s body controls the flow of nutrients and blood. There’s a hormone war between mother and fetus.)
