Short answer: Unions Long answer: the Hangry Holidays Thurston’s Cat Christmas Shirt besides I will buy this nature, oversight, and technology involved in doing their job has allowed them to substitute what used to be athleticism, critical thinking, communication skills, and community building with guns, tasers, and threats. This has not happened to firefighters for example because shooting, tasing, and threatening people doesn’t get their job done – which is saving people from buildings on fire. Firefighters have therefore had to remain in shape, while cops can argue discrimination with the argument that it shouldn’t matter how the job gets done, only that it gets done. Because their unions lobby to let them do whatever they want and get higher pay for lower service and say we should kiss their ass every chance we get.

what about cops who need glasses, how you gonna give a gun to someone who can’t see after their glasses gets knocked off their face?? Brilliant thought. Should they then consider a minimum vision as part of the Hangry Holidays Thurston’s Cat Christmas Shirt besides I will buy this application and continued employment process? most departments have pt standards but in areas where violent crime isnt common they dont care about it that much At least from what I’ve seen and who I’ve know who work in law enforcement, it depends on the type of work you are doing. If you are walking around the local county jail doing bed checks from a glass door that is practically impenetrable, your weight and fitness matter far less than if you are working out in the field. In my city in the 70s-80s, they had to do an hour of exercise 4 days a week, either before or after work. Police union fought against it. Shouldn’t “have” to work out was their argument. They are in some departments. I have the same question because locally we have some paramedics that definitely can’t run without giving themselves a heart attack. It’s really gross. I mean you’re in the healthcare field and this is how you choose to live? Plus why would I trust you with my health care when you can’t be trusted with your own? I feel the same way about nurses and firemen. Cause nobody wants to be a cop. The job fucking sucks so they hire anyone an don’t fire them often. Just any breathing human works. How many people seriously want to do a job where you are paid next to nothing to confront, chase and sometimes fight with the most insane, unstable and violent people in society. I was watching cops one day an they had to respond to a guy damn near the size of Shaquille O’Neal naked in the street covered in blood high on pcp screaming at the sky attacking fences, cars, and people at random in broad daylight. They tazed him like 5 times but it didn’t do shit but make him more angry so then they had to fight this naked giant that’s losing his mind for like 5 minutes. Afterwards the cops were like oh fuck…. I got some of his blood in my mouth I hope I don’t have AIDS now.
