EDIT TO ADD: the Halo unsc worn logo spartan barbarian shirt besides I will buy this solution proposed will just exacerbate the underlying problem- voter apathy. If we dilute the threat of lunatic presidents doing more severe long term damage people will be even less likely to participate. This did not happen because of Trump, or McConnel, or the Koch brothers. It happened because 100 million Americans chose not to get off their fucking couch. Higher turnout would have fixed those problems pre-emptively. Bernie would have been the nominee in 2016 instead of the inevitable party favorite. I think his point is that it’s not realistic to change the system unless voter turn out is first increased to historic levels. So the focus should be put on grass roots voter increase rather than assuming some change to something enshrined in the constitution will happen first.

On the Halo unsc worn logo spartan barbarian shirt besides I will buy this other hand, saying you can fix the corrupt system by changing the process ignores the impact of the corruption. So we get 15 year limits, what difference will that make? The oligarchs will keeping doing what they did to get us here. The lower level federal bench will be filled with extremists The solutions nationally have to be more systemic. Campaign finance reform and voter participation are the only real solutions. Everything else is just a bandaid on a gunshot wound. No one had a problem with RBG’s health deteriorating to a state on par with General Grievous but suddenly when SCOTUS makes a decision you don’t like we need term limits I don’t know that this will solve anything. We already know that the GOP has no issue replacing a judge with minimal lead time. Why wouldn’t they just replace any judge that is about to hit a limit (especially after losing an election) with a new judge prior to losing power? This rule would only apply to Dems and give the GOP another way to force out any dissenting options while ignoring rules for themselves. It’s wierd that they went through college using separate water fountains to black people. But instead of playing bingo in a nursing home they are writing laws that will be around for the next hundred years? You really think they are gonna pass that and let their paychecks go? I forgot who said it but it is not the person in office for 4 years but the lifetime politicians that you don’t see. All politicians are corrupt. I think we need more than term limits. I think we need definable categories for justices (Conservative, Moderate, Liberal), and we need them to declare themselves when becoming circuit judges. Then, we allocate three for each category. When a Conservative dies, a Conservative fills the spot, etc.
