I completely understand that you can get better battery life through increased efficiency of components just as easily as you can through a larger battery, but why not both? There’s no reason we can’t have full-fledged laptops with a legitimate, not best case test conditions, 8 to 10 hour battery life or a flagship level cell phone that could go 2 days without charging. Also a trove of charger cords and adaptors. I found my old Droid mini from 2012 or so…small, Kevlar body, and good battery life (when new). I hate how finding a phone with a screen under 5 inches is almost impossible today.

I have no need for a huge screen since all my gaming and video viewing is done on my surface or ps4 via my 4k tv…it would be great to have a small phone again. I’d rather have a triple thick MacBook Air that got a solid 24 hours of hard use than something light. I swear the company hasn’t actually preformed competent market research in a decade The fact that people get these ultra thin phones and the immediately put a bulky case on it really makes me wonder why we pushed for thin at the expense of battery so hard. I want a powerful machine sitting on my lap that has room for all the peripherals and a non-integrated graphics card. I prefer devices to be slightly beefy, makes me less scared of breaking it. I understand thinner phones but laptops seem like an odd thing to want even thinner, as long as it fits a backpack that should be good enough.
