I get a phone call at work to say my dogs got out of our yard and it cost me over $1000 to get them from the Gustav Forsling ice hockey defenceman For Florida Panthers T-Shirt and I love this pound. While living at home with my parents (who never clean or care for anything) a bug crawled into my ear while I was sleeping and got stuck. $700 ER bill Step kid needing orthodontics. Not just a retainer but the whole surgery and then 3 years of braces. Went to the local dental school and it was $15K instead of $30K. Without she’d have lost front teeth by 30. Dad wasn’t well enough to work at that time, bio mother never worked. I paid. Bio mother made a big song and dance to the kid that she would pay half when the property settlement came through. When it came time to agree settlement wouldn’t sign because she didn’t want me to benefit by getting the money back. Her kid had a need for major orthodontics that were considered medically necessary not cosmetic. I am NOT the beneficiary. The number of hours I was looking after the step during that 3 years when I could have worked meant bio mother probably owed me the full $15K. Dad is paying me back even though I don’t need him to, because he sees it as an act beyond “usual” step parenting. Kid is an adult now and doesn’t know about her mother defaulting that agreement. I’m enough of a bitch to know that bio mother doesn’t like uncertainty so it must kill her to think I could drop that gem any time.

Probably my teen daughter’s cancer in 2018. The insurance was billed 250k for her diagnosis, which consisted of 2 MRI’s, a PET scan, a skin punch biopsy, and 3 rounds of bone marrow biopsy attempts in which they took 14 bone marrow samples to try to find what was wrong and why her bone marrow was all simply dying. Then her treatment was a total of 122 days inpatient over the Gustav Forsling ice hockey defenceman For Florida Panthers T-Shirt and I love this course of 6 months. The total billed to the insurance for the entire course of her diagnosis and treatment was 1.8 million dollars. We only paid 5k of that out of pocket total, which is fantastic. But then there’s also the rest of the costs. I declined to renew my part time work contract (to be fair, I was seriously considering doing this anyway) and moved into the hospital with her, so loss of income. My husband and sons ate out a lot more, because no one had time to cook much of anything. Since I was only working part time, that had been my responsibility, and I was suddenly gone. All of the miscellaneous medical equipment like a wheelchair, etc. Gas and wear/tear on the car with 30 minutes of travel each way to her treating hospital, and we were lucky it was so close and has free parking. But we were making that trip at least twice weekly during the 2 months they were trying to diagnose her, and then trips for her dad and brothers to come visit while she was hospitalized.
